income 2.7K, do u hav car loan at the moment ?
for now, max u can get is a houseloan with instalment of 1/3 of ur income, means around 900/month. which is about 140-150K loan.

u might consider property around 140-160K.

anyway, i suggest u back up at least 6months of emergency fund (for unexpected rainy days), then save more for house d/p , imagine monthly saving 1000+, if u get into house instalment now, saving = 0, monthly saving =100+ , IF something happen (not u, but ur family or gf or close fren), u r in total doom...

for the time being, try to boost up ur income , clear off wat ever debt u hav ( study loan, car loan , credit card bill), then save more for d/p , in time to come, u might be able to afford a better house. smile.gif

keep some money in FD 1st. then prepare around 20k for the downpayment of a 150-170k house.

a very good start for you dude.

if possible keep staying in your RM200 room, save a lot , make sure at least 20k in your FD, then i would suggest 30-40k for your new house deposit, if the house is prebuilt, try get a good developer to buy, because normally good developer can handle well. Infamous developer will leave your house unbuild and runaway. I tasted the bitter be4.

since you have 2.7k a month and can save. very easy for you to save 60k. with some bonuses.. if you invest in funds or markets, hope you can do well.

cheers
