PWM fan as Exhaust Fan?

PWM fan for single Exhaust fan.. Does it make sense?

Based on my understanding, 3-pin/4-pin fans are different by the ways you can control the fan speed; 3-pin fans controlled by varying the voltage supplied to the fan; 4-pin fans controlled by varying the pwm signal through the 4th pin.
Either type of fans will work. Doesn't necessarily mean one is better than the other |
