I always wonder whether Covid-19 impact may have significant effect to the authorized dealers like Cortina and Hour Glass significantly in KL. Hope we can now get better deals from them.

You mean are they shutting the doors and pull down the curtains ? Well lets face it even the Bazel world are postponed lots of new models thats already line up are simply delayed if not cancelled . The effect is world wide so that can be the proportion on your earlier questions for starters.

Rolex not affected in other place such as hong Kong. I remember watching this guy walk into a few rolex AD asking for certain watches. Their replies are these watches fly off shelves within 5 mins.

I only see Rolex affected in places that depend on tourism such as some EU countries where it's difficult for most nationalities to travel to. Otherwise Rolex is rather bulletproof.

Sincere Watch in KLCC punya AP display case were all cleaned out except for some straps two weeks ago.

Cortina watch in KLCC has a few PM VC models but steel overseas all no stock.

Rolex even worse. Hour Glass in Gardens Mall left only Datejust models of various configurations and size.

Colored models are Boutique piece only so ADs don’t get any allocations.

I was on the waiting list for the white on white model at AP house and just collected mine last weekend.

Here’s my white on white. The mega tapisserie is very subtle. The white dial is really white. Like porcelain white color.

Comes with an additional dark blue strap and a bracelet on order.

To each his own. Lol.

I already have a rubber strap watch. Also I don’t like the stiff Rolex oyster flex due to the reinforced titanium insert.

I prefer the vulcanised rubber on my AP ROO as it is much softer.

Nah, local buyers also need to wait, nothing to do with CCP tourists. The steel models fly off the shelf themselves.

China tourists the most can buy 1 or 2 per person unlike LV bags which all resell when back home. You can’t go to any AD and say I want to buy 10 steel watches or more even with cash.

Yup. That’s why I am getting out of Rolexes. Can’t buy any steels unless I buy a watch a month to maintain my “relationship” with the AD.

Heard that's why wata got their distributionship pulled. There was a syndicate buying then shipping them out to Japan. I was even asked to deliver a bag of Rolexes as I used to travel to Japan and other countries without being asked too many question being a Security auditor for an american company.

I didn’t know that. No wonder there was a shitload of Rolex steel sports watches in the market in Japan.

I took this picture on my latest trip to Tokyo end of last year before the lockdown.

My point is that the ccp are the main buyers for all the non hot models of rolex, the diamonds and golds.. We all noe the steel one don even appear in shelf, sits inside the safe. Lol

That's what I heard about the steel models. You need to buy the non saleable ones first before they decide to sell you the steel models.

Like that I keep collecting GS limited editions first and Rolex can sell to themselves..

Buying so high price by resellers like getting ticket scalped or cheated whichever you want to see it. 10-20% is justified but 100-200% on older watches like Hulk and pepsi totally cut throat. I wun support even have money to buy their blood watches.

dunno about you , but personally for me, I can't even afford the extra 10-20% for the grey market hahahah

but for every one person tat doesn't support grey , I'm pretty sure there are 5 out there who does
and too many buyers, I'm pretty sure they don't even bother or know about the retail price of these watches

I think watches now good way to launder money biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

They probably flip them anyway. I'm not into that so prefer to get retail and enjoy for a while until bored.
