Just putting this idea out there. Imagine if a car cannot start unless you pass a breathalyzer test, in addition to your key/biometric info.

It must be have the following features:
-Fast
-Accurate
-Reusable

Update: It's already available

I think drunk people cannot pass "i'm not a robot" test. It's more practical in a way:

It's human nature to want to cheat in a test. Of course if the government implements it they must ban the sale of this compressed air.

So technology is already there. Then it's just up to the government to implement.

Accessories shops will bypass the system.

Better ban alcohol all together.

Stupid idea

1) Means we need to pay extra to install this just because of stupid drunkards

2) You can ask your friend or pay the bangla nearby to cheat and start the car

1. Well, technically you're paying extra for your inbuilt car alarm because of stupid car thieves.

2. It depends on whether he want to help or not. If he sees that you're not capable of driving he might not help even if you pay him, for your own good.

At the same time, you have to ask yourself, is the population mature enough to adopt this? Otherwise, it becomes a classic case of first world infrastructure but third world mentality.

What a ridiculous comparison.

What advantage do I get for installing your system? None.
What disadvantages do i have if i i stall your system? Plenty.
What disadvantage do i have if I don't install? None.

The advantage comes from a community wide implementation by reducing the number of drunk drivers driving.

Low value proposition for such a high impact initiative.

Let's consider the alternatives:

1. Maintain current system - caught by police or caught only after causing an accident
2. Ban alcohol - controversial, very few countries in the world implements this
3. Implement alcohol license (mandatory installation on owner's vehicles) - one person can buy alcohol for others, doesn't really work
