4-5kb download with utorrent bumped up to full speed now !

For those having errors running deluge, make sure u close all other torrent programs first then try again.

Been using deluge for a week with great results too, just a bit annoyed that it doesnt run properly with ubuntu. Keeps pausing and resuming the download infinitely even after i unchecked full file allocation.

For now, have to live with the windows port, a bit buggy but still very usable. Just hope it remains full speed forever ! laugh.gif

I had this problem earlier too.

Solved it by saving the download to an ext3 formatted disk space. The pausing and resuming only happens when I tell deluge to download to my windows partition (NTFS).

Good luck!

Ah, i think u nailed the problem. I'm saving the files on NTFS too.
But if i save it to an ext3 partition, will i be able to copy it over to an NTFS one later on ? I usually copy files from my torrent box to my main rig to watch where theres a bigger monitor.

What method are you using to transfer files between the two machines?
I don't think there should be a problem if you use a USB thumbdrive because thumbdrives are formatted in FAT. Ubuntu can write to FAT no problem.

Just realized how stupid my question was... i'll give deluge@ubuntu another shot the next time i reboot.

Anyway, i notice that the dl speeds are much faster when i limit my upload to 70% of its maximum achievable speed instead of setting it to unlimited. With deluge, quite tempting to upgrade to streamyx 1mb package !

On alpha 16 now and getting full speed mostly even though the ports are blocked.

One particular torrent tho wont budge beyond 10kb on alpha 16, but i tried the same torrent on ubuntu without any success as well, still 10kb.

So i'm assuming that slow speeds are not caused by the blocked ports but rather the issue with the seeders/leechers itself.
