I've been using deluge for 2 days and I didnt see any CPU usage spikes, but today I find that its using 40-90% of the CPU. Any reason why?

@QuickFire

it's been reported at Slurge site that there's issue with torrent that creates folder to hold downloaded files..
*
uhm what doest that mean? unsure.gif

anyway it was this certain torrent that was causing the cpu spike. once I paused this particular torrent everything was fine.

The speed for the past few days has been slow. On rare occasions it peaks at 100KBps, and sometimes its around 50-70KBps, but most of the time its stuck at 15-30KBps.

Before this it was usually at least 50KBps, and many times I managed to do 120KBps. I wonder what happened.

I'm still using alpha11, scared to use later versions lol. Should I?

EDIT: Its because my port is being closed. Why the heck is this?

Ok I tried alpha16 and my port was still being blocked. Tried alpha7 and I'm now downloading at 140KBps. biggrin.gif

I dont know if this happens to other builds, but I'm using alpha7, and when my pc crashes, all the data downloaded in that session will be lost. For example, I start a new torrent right now, it downloads 50% and then my pc crashes. When I restart the torrent will be back at 0%.

This is particularly annoying for me because I have a mobo with bad caps at the moment, so my pc crashes randomly rather often.

Any temp workaround for this?

yeah Alan I think some guys a few pages back said chinese characters arent supported.

from your screenshot they look like square cookies. laugh.gif

Anyway alpha21 doesnt drop ports, but I cant get my speed back up. I'll stick to alpha7, no problem reaching 140KBps with a good torrent. smile.gif

but i must warn vmware+linux-ubuntu+deluge users...if deluge crashed like it did (the first and one time) you'll loose all your torrents to zer0% ! sad.gif  as someone here already mentioned.
thank you for your attention.

for deluge-windows it crashed more often the upside is it recovers everything on restart.
*
Nope, for me on windows xp, if it crashes everything downloaded in that session will be lost.

Have you guys tried the earlier versions? I'm using alpha7 and I'm consistently getting 150KBps on a torrent with only 27 connected peers.

I guess I'm lucky, alpha7 isnt buggy at all for me.

I'm wondering tho, I'm on the RM77 package (applied for this during the promotion period, equivalent to the current RM88 package) and right now I'm getting 170KBps. But isnt my package just 1.0mbps? 1mbps and 170KBps??

new version of deluge have been released yesterday.. version 0.5.6 .. http://download.deluge-torrent.org/index.p...=windows/0.5.6/ n yes this is windows version

by the way this is an official release from deluge, not alpha version. Here's the changelog

Deluge 0.5.6 (24 October 2007)

    * Web Interface Plugin
    * Hopefully fix "losing data" and having to re-download parts (for real this time)
    * Use new full allocation method which does not create files until one of its pieces is downloaded
    * Tray lock password is no longer stored in plain text
    * Update the Scheduler plugin and fix a bunch of bugs on it
    * Double-clicking on a torrent opens up its containing folder
    * Fix SpeedLimiter plugin when setting upload limits
    * Fix MoveTorrent plugin when moving actively downloading torrents
    * Pause torrents while importing blocklist and resume them when finished
    * Remove TorrentPieces and disable its use
    * A whole bunch of stuff for Win32
    * Add private flag to TorrentCreator plugin
    * Use SVG for internal logo usage (except on Win32)
    * Use theme for tray icon instead of hard-coded
    * Properly release port on shutdown
    * TorrentFiles plugin now has progress bars
    * Removing torrent files no longer deletes files that werent part of the torrent
    * New max half-open connections setting to deal with cheap/broken routers
    * Inherit UPnP fixes from libtorrent
    * Use threading for everything, instead of spawnning
*
cool, will try and see if it matches alpha7 for speed.

Deluge only works if there are many seeders otherwise VPN is better.

Define 'many'. With 20+ seeds I can get 100KBps or even more.

I'm using 0.5.6.1b and some of my download is wasted or discarded or whatever (dont know what it is called lol). For every 100MB downloaded there will be like 5-10MB wasted. Didnt happen in earlier versions.
