Yay, got everything installed and my ubuntu is up and running in vmware. BT is like the good ol' days now hehe.

On a side note, linux is way to troublesome for a regular newb like me to be worth a dual-boot.

hard to justify your statement. i believe the best way is for people to use whichever client they want and let them decide.

I may be having some problems with my connection..First day I installed Deluge, everything worked like a charm.. 70+ kbps dls..But after that, the performance degraded..now i'm able to get about 10-20kbps on certain torrents while the rest are stable at below 10kbps. I tried ktorrent like suggested also but same results. Btw, here are my settings. Anything which I need to change or anything else that i could change? Thx.







p/s: for those running vmware, i did manage to have some success copying files via drag-and-drop after using vmware workstation + vmware tools

yep, port forwarded and tested successfully. downloading some tv series and music..

i can connect to all the seeds/peers it always showing something like 35(35)/ 300(300) on the seeds / peers tab.. just the speed dun seem to get past 20k

but downloaded the latest ubuntu realease can touch 70k

black, i cant install ubuntu in the pc (fresh install) iziz because of NTFS?

i should use FAT32?

1. install vmware
2. extract ubuntu 7.04
3. run ubuntu with vmware

That's the point. Install Ubuntu directly and you don't have the need to come back here.

Mine is single box Ubuntu, just wonder why my torrent speed like turtle.

Got deluge installed, NAT working, etc. On startup, everything looks good - DL speeds are good, but after about 5 minutes, DL rates dropped pretty drastically. Happens every time. Any ideas? I have encryption at stream-level for uploads and downloads, but am starting to wonder whether TMnuts has started to act on this.

I have downloaded all that you mentioned and some more but it seems that after a few seconds or when I fast forward, the video just freezes or breaks up.  The same video has no problems playing in Windows Media Player.  Any suggestions?

I already downloaded automatix and if I'm not mistaken, it is now automatix2.  I'll try the other one.  Hope it solves the problem.

ok in all our joy of having stumbled upon a bit torrent client that actually works to overcome tmnet's short-sightedness, has anyone ever wondered if there are tmnet spies monitoring these forums? if they get wind of this, then they may put something in place to ban deluge or something like that. can it be done or am i being paranoid?

I built Deluge on Debian Linux myself, the source code can be modified to change the user agent and peerid to something else.
