QUOTE(ehwee @ Aug 10 2020, 02:21 PM) this is WPC composite paneling, it is 10x expensive than plaster ceiling, mostly people use this at exterior as it has more water resistance and colour fading character. you are using this for internal ceiling that's your ceiling cost is high. 10x than normal price... Well theres goes my dream. Back to classic L shape. At least i know the names.

Sorry ehwee, if you dont mind. I have chosen L block 1 layer for plaster ceiling as living room and dining room is separated by 6 inch beam while the ceiling height is 11ft. In kitchen, the room is divided by 3 inch beam. The contractor ask me to buy lighting that i wish but i have bad taste in designing related with arts. Can you help me for lighting location and type of lighting in living and dining. As i wish the house will be bright during night, and can turn to special light while watching movies or dinning. Thank you. Here my sketch house. If anything hurt your eyes of my furniture arrangement, please advice.
L block will be like this, showroom.

QUOTE(ehwee @ Aug 17 2020, 06:39 PM) if the beam between living and dining is the position indicated ( dotted line ) at my diagram below as I assumed, then this is the ceiling lighting layout I suggest. Instead of having many L box around the areas which might look overcrowded. I suggest you having it on guest and tv living areas only, dining and kitchen areas can go for full ceiling covering. As a plus interest input, you can do some recess light trough ( yellow colour ) at guess living dining and kitchen area too blue round mean wall wash spot light, red round mean down light, big blue round with crossing mean pendant lights Hope this help you  Good ehwee, thank you. I will be using your ideas if you dont mind. I think it will look better than my dull ideas. Will show you when it is done. Probably in end of september or early october. It is the first time i heard of wall wash spot light. I only know about downlight. Time to go back google again. For downlight, what size or shape would be ideal, and is philip meson any good? Thank you. This post has been edited by ikram_p: Aug 17 2020, 08:29 PM

QUOTE(ehwee @ Aug 18 2020, 11:12 AM) Great if you can share some photos after the ceiling done to see the effects. I have a quick check on the Phillips meson light, it has 900 lm capacity, should be OK to light up the place. Yet seems it only comes with warm white light color which might be too yellowish for living room. You might better look for cool white lights instead for brighter warmer environment. Yet it depend on you actually, if you prefer dark warmer l Hotel room like effects, then ok by all means. Sure, will post on picture when done. I see, i aim for brighter night. Then meson will be a no go. Only if i want to watch tv or dining i wish the lighting would be relaxing-dimming. Then you, alocate yellow spot on my house map for yellow light spot. I think your idea is a really good spot to go.

QUOTE(ehwee @ Aug 23 2020, 07:14 PM) If ask for my preference will be square 6 inch Yet it's actually personal preference, round or square both ok, normally down light is 6 inch more important is the wattage of the lights having. If want bright light ambience then can get 12w led downlight The wall wash spot light can get 4 inch min 7w Thank you ehwee

QUOTE(ehwee @ Sep 2 2020, 06:46 PM) I will suggest choose colors with little bit of greyish tone to match with the maple dark staircase. I omit out the not recommended colors, this help you to limit down the possible selection. Hope this help. Thank you ehwee. Two Thumbs up.

QUOTE(ehwee @ Oct 9 2020, 04:41 PM) Looks good man May be you can opt for these 2 timber floor colours [attachmentid=10621723] I quite like the blue colour doors you choose for kitchen cabinet, in order to match the nice blue doors better, I suggest you can consider using light grey timber floor colour, as brown timber floor tend to compete with the blue colour to catch our eye attentions visually. [attachmentid=10621728] It is kallarp, unfortunately ikea already make the colour unavailable and update with new color. That would be elegant oak and the lighter one would be cinnamon cherry. How about the wall, should i left it painted white or change to another colour. We try to make the room in kitchen and living rich with lighter wood color as much as our budget permited . Tq ehwee.

QUOTE(ehwee @ Oct 10 2020, 01:40 PM) I will suggest keep wall painting colour minimum and more to white colour or light pastel colours. As don't forget there are many other items that will have many colors that will need to blend into the overall scheme as well like curtain, sofa, furniture, carpet etc. So may be keep wall to light pastel colours then use light grey or light brown curtains to bring some subtle accent colour boost to the interior will be a smarter and easier choice. Thank you very much ehwee. Your choice look very good. Will update with you again.
