QUOTE(ikram_p @ Aug 22 2020, 10:55 PM) Hi ehwee, sorry to bother you again. Downlight should it be circle or square shape better, and should it be 6 or 4 inch size? Thank you. If ask for my preference will be square 6 inch Yet it's actually personal preference, round or square both ok, normally down light is 6 inch more important is the wattage of the lights having. If want bright light ambience then can get 12w led downlight The wall wash spot light can get 4 inch min 7w This post has been edited by ehwee: Aug 23 2020, 07:28 PM

QUOTE(Katrinah @ Aug 23 2020, 06:10 PM) Question, will it be odd to have a kitchen island (bar height 106cm) that's higher than kitchen counter (92cm)? I've been browsing island pics but most ppl have it same height as their counter, making me reconsider . Second opinion most appreciated ~ The island height is not necessarily to be same high with kitchen counter. You can adjust it base on your prefer height that is comfortable for you to work on it during cooking sessions. Normally an island is 900mm high, If you do lot of baking then can do it 850mm height or even 800mm depend on your physical body height. Bar table height can be in between 900 - 1200. Let designer know your prefered height, they will find a design solution to make the island blend in to the overall kitchen design. This post has been edited by ehwee: Aug 24 2020, 12:32 PM

QUOTE(dotax @ Aug 24 2020, 07:28 PM) Question: What type of items would you expect client to prepare or have in mind before engaging ID rather than totally blank? Do determine your renovation budget and design theme you plan to have, preferable kitchen setup. if you plan to do extension, do some searching about the local authority requirement, etc. These will help you to communicate with your designer. Cheers !

QUOTE(blakeriley @ Aug 24 2020, 08:19 PM) What interview questions should i ask an interior designer? Do first figure out the renovation budget, design theme and other items you plan to have as mentioned on my previous post #140. Then just share the information with designers and see what is their feedbacks. This is the best way to determine which designer is clickable and professional for you by analyzing their feedbacks. This is what I suggest, hope it help up! This post has been edited by ehwee: Aug 25 2020, 08:49 PM

QUOTE(Jau @ Aug 28 2020, 04:13 PM) Hi how can I do wet dry separate in this small toilet? The square black colour is the house big paip(34cmx34cm). Thank your toilet really tight, I will advice not to do full shower glass panels. May be a small one at basin, then using sliding curtain will do. Here is my suggested layout for you, cheers !! QUOTE(ikram_p @ Sep 1 2020, 05:55 PM) Hi ehwee, After plaster ceill. done by next week. We planning to go spc flooring. But my wife want lighter colour for floor but the stair is maple dark. [attachmentid=10570730] [attachmentid=10570729] Any suggestion for this colour adjustment? Thank you. I will suggest choose colors with little bit of greyish tone to match with the maple dark staircase. I omit out the not recommended colors, this help you to limit down the possible selection. Hope this help. Attached thumbnail(s)

QUOTE(Zwean @ Sep 2 2020, 05:11 PM) ehweeCan I ask for your suggestion? Plan to create 2 bedrooms out of the layout below. I don't mind to have a small kitchen space, like how studios have a small space. How should I go about it? here you go. We input a design twist for you. Why not using the tv cabinet as part of the bedroom wall, this can save a few inches for the partition. Can consider a bar table behind sofa as well so you can use it as dining table. This make good use of your small studio build up area. hope this help! This post has been edited by ehwee: Sep 6 2020, 11:27 AM Attached thumbnail(s)

QUOTE(submergedx @ Sep 5 2020, 11:33 PM) Thanks TS sharing any ID info. Just passing by, maybe will drop some questions in the future when i need. I know TS doesnt recommend supplier, but I wondering is there any lowyat members looking ID service from you? Cheers! Appreciated. Yes, I have been engaged by some lowyat members here for their home design. The reason I plan not to recommend suppliers or contractor or any product brands is I try to stay neutral to all suppliers as designer. different products have their pro and cons and supplier have their own different degree of services. End users also have different expectations and budget. most of all, I try not to appear too commercially yet just wish to spend my casual time on and off to help and promote the value of interior design can bring to our beloved home living.

QUOTE(Dfuzzy @ Sep 4 2020, 04:22 PM) Hi ehwee, How do I get this room to fit 3 single beds, wardrobe and 2 study table. No double decker. 3rd single bed rarely used, so maybe a pullout or sofabed perhaps. Appreciate your input. The measurement in inches, not feet. sorry for late reply. I try to avoid making bed facing directly to toilet door, also try to maintain the openness of the space so this room won't feel tight. Here is the layout I suggest for you. Hope it help! QUOTE(theproblemkid @ Sep 6 2020, 08:26 PM) Hi ehwee...Would you be able to advice or provide some ideas if a walk-in or walk-through wardrobe with a small dresser area can be built within the master bedroom itself? The length is about 14ft and width is about 13ft Thanks! If you ok with queen size bed, then it is possible to have a walk in wardrobe like this. because of the 14ft bedroom length limitation, we suggest keep top row wardrobe to sliding type and the bottom wardrobe 450 to 500mm depth cabinet with adjustable shelving for folded clothes, shoe, towels, small items storage. If you ok to have these wardrobe without doors covering, then it can help to make the walk in wardrobe feel wider. This post has been edited by ehwee: Sep 9 2020, 02:09 PM Attached thumbnail(s)

QUOTE(dotax @ Sep 7 2020, 11:36 PM) Hi ehwee, As my apartment house is kind of limited size, i am considering open kitchen style (dry and wet kitchen together). I planning to use electric hob with strong hood to reduce odour leak into living space area. However, currently i am not too sure how my kitchen cabinet design should be. The reason being my kitchen has a water in & outlet fixed at corner of the kicthen (yellow highlighted). So should i place the sink according to the outlet area, or place the hob slightly far away from the sink (as drawing below), or swap the area between sink and hob? I often saw people place cooking hob at the corner rather than middle of kitchen cabinet, so not too sure which way to go for. Thank you for your advise I would say more important is the cooker hob area has a solid back wall panel that will help to increase the cooker hood suction efficiency. so place cooker hob in front of windows is a no no. it is better to remain the basin at or near existing water outlet to minimize the trouble you may face for maintainese especially when the basin pipe blockage. understand you can't enclosed the kitchen with glass partition due to the area size. Many people opt to do cooking at yard area to keep out of cooking smoke, if you plan not to do that, here is the layout I reckon. Hope it help up! QUOTE(justastudent @ Sep 10 2020, 08:01 AM) Hi Ehwee, I'm having a dilemma with choosing the right sofa size for my living room. I'm thinking of having a L-shape sofa with the "long" side near the balcony but I'm not sure about the length of the sofa - should I go with 9ft or 8ft? (Length in picture attached is in cm) it's depend whether you plan to have another single arm sofa at the side or not. Here are the 2 options you can have !! 9ft sofa
8ft sofa
