Well I'm not the instructor, but normally BJJ is taught with the gi. I'm sure the instructor will be doing some no-gi as well.

AS far as I know, classes are scheduled on Mondays and Thursdays at 8pm. The fees I can't remember, but you can check out the blog that I posted above.
*
Anyone from here going for the class tonight?

Where is the gym to be exact?
Let's say I'm coming from Puchong, someone please give me clearer guide.

thanks

Hi there Morph,

So you're the one with the knee guard.
Anyway, there was about 20 of us. Karate-ka, judo-ka, TKD, BJJ and god knows what else.

I felt the time period wasn't enough. Quico is very humble and friendly.
*
MFLooi,
Yeah biggrin.gif I was the one with knee guard.
After 2 years of hiatus from martial arts training, I'm real happy to be training again.
Need to get back in shape, my abs hurts now tongue.gif

Yeah, agree with u. Should make it 2 hours tongue.gif
"We Learn From Each Other" <--- that's thumbup.gif

Which one was you la?
Thank you so much for the directions you gave me, sorry I forgot to mention it earlier tongue.gif

Morph & MFLooi

You guys coming on Thurs?  Will say "hi" to you then.
*
jurusilat,
I want to go on Thursday + sign up, but hope everything goes well.
The only drawback of joining the classes is the distance im staying ... it's 30km away from my home.
Currently im on semester break and will resume classes on 8th October, not sure if im able to cope.

sigh~

The same problem im facing with KDTA, wanted to join them too last time, but its too far.
And which guy was you ? tongue.gif

Well if you sign up Thursday, I'll come say "hi". wink.gif

ps. Dont let distance deter you. I remember back in my uni days having to travel more than an hour to train in JKD. If you really are determined to learn, then you gotta go for it!...

Morph,

Please don't let distance deter you. I'm guessing that you are driving?
I live nearby Kajang. Next month onwards, my mode of transport is LRTs.

Don't dwell on the negative elements. Please do not let the distance become an excuse.
*
Thanks for the encouragement guys biggrin.gif

You guys got your GIs already?
I managed to get one for myself, but it's RM448, havent collect it yet.

OMG! New sport, damn expensive to start off.

Whoa...that's pricey! But then all BJJ gis are... tongue.gif Where did you order from?

Anyway if it's a good brand, it will last for years.
*
Yeah, it's pricey.

I got it from KDTA.
It's a Gameness Platinum Weave. According to Gameness's website, it's the highest range Gi.
http://www.gameness.com/gear.htm

I decided to get a good one since I'm going to be serious about it. hahaha! icon_idea.gif

Check out with KDTA for your GIs, if you really want a BJJ and not those Aikido and Judo.

Ahh...Gameness. Good gi. Price is actually ok  since it's pretty good quality.

RM448 is considered quite cheap for it's kind , but at the same time expensive for me tongue.gif
Wherever Vince got his 'lubang' from, gameness official store already selling for USD135 excluding shipping.

Feel like puking during conditioning session blink.gif
and got dominated during rolling session cry.gif

You got me right about the blue gi, but I wasn't from Vince's dojo before. I just buy my apparels there tongue.gif
My lower back is slowly recovering with TCM massage + acupuncture.

If I rest well and all, December i'll start rolling again biggrin.gif

on Gi or no Gi oso can

  rules

    * No time limit
    * No striking of any kind
    * No eye gouging or fish hooking
    * No grabbing the ears
    * No hair pulling
    * No finger or toe holds
    * No knees or elbows on face
    * No slippery substances allowed on body or clothing
    * No use of T-Shirt and no holding the shorts allowed

One ways to win

  Submission

One Ways ?

If it's Gi, how are grappling gonna take place without holding shirt or pants?
I think the rules needs to be looked into.

just my 2 cents

where do u do yr acupuncture...does acupuncture help joints?
*
I have myself poked at Yee Chou, Taman Megah PJ (www.yeechou.com)

Some say it helps, some say no, based on my personal experience, acupuncture only relieves pain temporary.

Meanwhile, my back's healing progress has stagnant. Time to find other treatment
