As titled,
my car front headlamp is cracked and requires replacement on both side.

Should i get Ori headlamp replacement at service centre? rm 900++
or aftermarket ones probably rm300++

my car is in the sun all the time, i scared aftermarket ones will oxidise quickly
any advice?

lamp was cracked due to bad tinting installation.

For me, the answer lies in how old is the car. If it's still quite new, get the original one. If it's already an old car, why bother getting the original.

if u rely a lot on the headlamp better get ori.. ori gives u better reflection... in case u r not using projector headlamp... the adjustment also easier and more accurate.. if u do not drive at night then nvm la.. get oem will do.. btw the statement above doesnt mean that oem cannot be good.. some oem are good also..

first of all, how can tinting crack your headlight?
secondly, what car you are driving?
thirdly, do you drive a lot at night? non original headlamp causes a lot of glare and it is not bright. maybe can get original from second hand shop

As some1 has shared, it depends on how old is the car, cozz some unpopular car models don't enjoy wide range of parts whether ori or OEM.

It also depends on your intention, if you wanna keep for a long time just go for ori.

Another way is, if the crack(s) is not that long or serious, get it recond by painting or detailing shop by 1st sanding it and then spray a layer of high quality 2k clearcoat over the recond lenses.

Tinting always is bad for plastic headlamp
The heat cant escape and rot on the headlamp shell make it crack. Never ever put tint on headlamp
Some case melted inside of the headlamp housing .

another option u can think is to buy from half cut.. half cut maybe still blurish due to sun but that can be restored from most of the detailing shop. I did that once to my old persona headlamp

old persona using reflector which doesnt shine as great as projector.
if original cost RM900+, i suggest you look for aftermarket ones with projector type, brighter, clearer, and wont glare others, around RM600 only with 3 yrs warranty.

i did for my old waja, lorry hinge hit and destroyed my headlight.. after upgraded to projector type headlight now can see alot more at night

One of shop able to change the headlamp plastic housing for accord, shared by one guys in accord fb club.

I guess other headlamp is able to replace as well.

For persona reflectors type, why not upgrade it with hid/led retrofit and get splendid light output vs ori halogen reflectors?

If you can find DEPO headlights for your car, I would say go for it. This is a Taiwan brand but very good in quality.

Either replace just the lens only or find half cut ones. Don't buy aftermarket ones, those are mostly China made crap with poor quality.

Don't tint your headlamps, nowadays those plastic headlamp covers x tahan mia. The crack is due to the headlamp cover and the tint expanding and contracting at different rate due to temperature, especially when you turn on the headlamp and the bulb warms the headlamp cover/tint.

Try to find a halfcut, should be plenty of them in the market considering how popular the Persona was.
