300bg quota is confirmed. Everything is throttle after that. Gonna make a complaint to MCMC.

This 300gb is a joke. Easily breached within 20 days if you stream alot hd videos.
*
Did you complain to MCMC? Any news of it.
I hope it would increase to 500gb or 600gb monthly. However, it's still not enough for heavy video streaming even if 600gb.

Hi guys,
Does anyone of you able to change your MaxisONE Go WiFi from private IP to Public IP?
My parents home just use MaxisONE Go WiFi and my bro asked maxis to change to Public IP.
Maxis replied my bro that MaxisONE Go WiFi cannot change to public IP, only fibre broadband can do so.
Is that true?
Thank you.

Ofc I did. They just show me their TOS. TOS is their defence.

Effectively 28th May 2020, we have revamped the previous packages for MaxisONE Go WiFi to unlimited however, it is still subject to our Fair Usage Policy (FUP). Therefore, we have capped it to 300GB and once you have fully utilised it, the speed will be throttled. You can purchase an add-on internet pass to continue in browsing and streaming at higher speed. The purpose of FUP is to allow fair usage and seamless experience among all subscribers and to avoid bandwidth hogging.

For more information, you can refer to our Term and Conditions (https://www.maxis.com.my/terms-conditions/personal/broadband/maxisone-go-wifi/),

Our Services

13. For Service(s) activated prior to 28th May 2020, total Internet quota for MaxisONE Go Wifi Plan 78/108 is specified during point of sales as contained in the sales material and in the Appendix for MaxisONE Go WiFi. Once your allocated internet quota finishes, the speed will be managed to a lower speed until your next billing cycle with no excess charges. To continue enjoying the MaxisONE Go WiFi Service at regular speeds when your allocated internet quota is finished, you may purchase additional data passes BEFORE you exceed your MaxisONE Go WiFi package data allocation. Purchase of additional data passes is available through your Maxis app or Maxis Self Serve and accessible through your mobile phone, other available Devices or channels as we may inform you from time to time.

14. For the Services(s) activated on or after 28th May 2020, total Internet quota for MaxisONE Go Wifi Plan 138 is specified during point of sales as contained in the sales material and in the Appendis. You acknowledge and accept that:

a. If your data usage exceeds 300GB in a month, Maxis may at its absolute discretion limit the quality of video streaming to standard definition during peak hours.

b. The mobile internet package allocated within the Services(s) is exclusively for domestic usage only.

c. There is no guarantee of speed. Availability of Service(s) depends on Mobile Data Coverage.

We reserve the rights without liability, to revise this SSTC, the GTC, Plan and our pricing. Where reasonably practicable, we will give you reasonable advance notice of such changes and all previous versions of our user guides or leaflets will be superseded. You accept you are responsible for regularly reviewing information on the Plan and Service(s) at www.maxis.com.my/tnc, including changes to the Agreement. Your continued use of the Service(s), and/or plan(s) (after the Effective Date of any revision/change to the terms and conditions of the Agreement, Services, and/or plan(s)) shall constitute unconditional acceptance by you of such revisions/changes and you shall be bound by the same. If you do not accept such revisions/changes, you will terminate the Plan(s) and/or the use of the Services by giving us notice within 28 days from the Effective Date failing which you are assumed to have accepted the changes.

Under their terms, if you don't accept this, feel free to terminate. ranting.gif

Thinking to subscribe this to replace my streamyx and reduce my mobile phone data plan with Digi (currently using Digi Postpaid 90). But seems like 300GB is not enough to use and after that FB Youtube will be throttled. Do you guys recommend me to switchover?

FB and YouTube is getting throttled at 1.5mbps at night time even if you haven't reached 300GB, and only 512kbbps all day after 300GB.
If you're a heavy user, it's not recommended for you.
Have you checked Digi infinite 150?

If you really gonna use it for 12months, it's RM1 only, take it.
Otherwise, it's not worth since it's just a 4G only router.

Omg, that is bad! Throttling even before 300GB is reached? That's a major turn off already. I have heard of the Digi Infinite 150 previously, is it truly unlimited or like Maxis Go Wifi?

I have been using Digi i150 for over 1.5 years. 100% Unlimited, 100% no caps in speed. Good days i able to get 100Mbps .. worse days maybe 20Mbps. Average 40-60. Shah Alam, KL town, Kepong, Port Dickson area so far tried, happy. Beauty about this is i put it in my Nighthawk M1 router, so it wifi the whole area, can bring anywhere, hospital, cafe, car, anyplace. I do a lot of video conferencing for work too, so no lagging. Plex no lag.

Of course depends on area and coverage, but overall i'd recommend.

I see. Then definitely the Digi i150 is better lol. I just have to work out the cost and see if it is worth upgrading from my current Digi Postpaid 90 with 60gb. Was thinking to use a yoodo plan RM30 + RM108 maxis wifi plan = RM138. The current 60gb plan I have is sufficient to last me a month by tethering to my PC but I am conservative in downloading stuffs hahaha. Your nighthawk M1 router seems expensive hmm.gif

It's RM138 excluding SST for MaxisONE Go Wifi for non-Maxis postpaid user.
Only Maxis postpaid users get RM30 rebate for 12 months, and after that it'll revert back to RM138.
Comparing to Digi infinite 150 which gives 1000GB quotas for RM150 excluding SST. It's much better provided your location has a good connection.

Yup thanks for breaking that down! I am aware of Maxis' pricing model and I can subscribe the RM108 package cause I have someone who's a Maxis postpaid customer. Of course quota wise Digi wins hands down. I am getting speeds at my place around 50mbps down and 20mbps up using my iPhone 7 Plus. Still miles better than my streamyx 1mbps lol.

Yes indeed, the Netgear Nighthawk M1 is expensive, but worth the money. Back then when i bought it, it was RM1k. But its served well. Imagine this.

1) You have a MIMO 4x4 Cat16 router, which gives you better d/l speed compared to mobile routers out there at that time, maybe at part with some of the best now
2) It has a removable battery, and you can power on without battery, just direct connect with USB-C using yr power bank. I also bought an extra battery cost RM50. So imagine having both battery charged, and one power bank full. When i go out, i use powerbank to juice the modem up, until powerbank dies, then slot in one battery at a time. Each battery ranges between 8-10 hours. So i have internet almost everywhere i go
3) It has an ethernet port built in. At home i already have my PS4, Mibox 4S, TV and laptop hooked up to a gigabyte hub. So when i go back home, i just hook that up to my nighthawk to the hub, and the entire set up is juiced up. Wired and wireless connection. Since at home i can connect directly to USB-C source, i remove the battery to protect it from bloating.

I consider the RM1k as an investment over many years, so far, its proving its worth (couple that with Digi i150 sim card of course)

Guys,

This maxisOne Go Home wifi will be sharing the same network as our maxisone mobile package? My hometown is quite rural area but maxis mobile broadband coverage is pretty good and fast. I worry if I subscribe to this, it is not as the mobile broadband. Any idea?

If you phone could get a good connection on Maxis network at your location, then this MaxisOne Go Wifi will be 99.9% the same as your postpaid/prepaid plan. Furthermore, 4G CPE router tends to have better connection than any phone does. The only issue is whether or not 300GB quotas enough for your monthly usage.
I may suggest you take the SIM only since there's no contract. You are allowed to purchase the 4G router for RM1 later but it'll tie you to a 12-month contract.

Digi and Maxis both use LTE band 3 and 7. So, if the modem works on Digi, then it'll also works on Maxis.

MaxisONE Go Wifi has got a lot of improvement. Today is my last day of my billing cycle and my consumption for this month has already passed 500GB.
YouTube and Play Store don't get throttled anymore.

Maybe, someone else could check it too, and hope it's not my "imagination".

My previous post screenshots were at 8.54pm night time. I had consumed over 300GB, yet I were still getting high speed for YouTube or Play Store. It's normally throttled to only 512kbps after 300GB usage.

Now, I'm on a new cycle, and testing done at 8.20pm night time for YouTube and Netflix (free). Another thing is that, YouTube normally won't changed to 1080p on auto previously.
Attached Image Attached Image

I hope someone else could confirm that Maxis has done some amendment to MaxisONE Go Wifi as well as Maxis mobile plans.
Despite that, I might be terminating this plan soon because my home finally has fiber internet although TM is still in installation progress.
