I am looking at this particular product, Aukey Fast Charger.

According to the product details,

- Fast charge the new iPhone X or iPhone 8+ up to 50% in just 30 minutes, and use the same Power Delivery adapter to recharge a Type-C equipped MacBook or MacBook Pro at full speed.
- USB-C Output (Power Delivery): 5V 3A, 9V 3A, 12V 2.5A, 15V 2A, 20V 1.5A

And my iPhone XS can accept up to 18W when charging while this charger can deliver at the power above.

Will my battery lifespan degrades if I use a charger like this?

Every battery will degrades eventually. Just enjoy the fast charging normally as nowdays all charger are efficient & smart will auto disconnect but be sure use top notch brand such as your aukey.

Once you start fast charging you will not go back to cute little 5watts. Same as wireless charging since I started to use wireless charging its very convenient and my battery ready to go anytime unless need extra juice of power ASAP.

Just be sure your ip not overly heating up such as your case are too bulky/less heat dissipation.

I believe the new batteries supporting fast charge may withstand degradation a little better. Otherwise the public already put out bad reviews on battery life after some uses. My phone has similar fast charge feature. So far, after 1+ year usage, battery life seems almost no different from new... so acceptable for me. smile.gif

Hmm, seems like the faster the recharge speed, the worst the degradation is. Currently mainstream phones likely use established tech, probably the 15W range instead of the bleeding edge 40W range, so should be fine for now. And higher end tech is $$$. Manufacturers wanna keep price of mainstream product at competitive level ma... biggrin.gif

Battery cycle is based on charging/discharging cycles.
If u opted for fast charging, means on average, the cycle of charging increased...hence, reducing battery lifespan.

Not to mentioned external factor like heat

I don't think fast charger will degrades the battery as much as people think, but the external factors will.

Fast charger will indeed effect the life of battery to some degree but not significant as external factor and the trade off is easily accepted.

As the charging rate increases, heat is the main factor that need to take care of while charging.

my XS after almost a year using 18w fast charger, the battery ages beautifully.

Previously I think would degrades.. Early days..
Nowadays battery last longer.. Fast Charge won't really damage the battery... Just needed to take care about the heat...

Using fast charger once in awhile wouldn’t hurt. I would not recommend using it everyday though. Unless you’re planning to use your phone for more than 5 years, I don’t think you’ll see any difference.

Reaching 3 years, 81% sounds legit. Performance-wise have you been experiencing any throttling?

Yes bro. 81% for 3 years quite good. Been gaming alot past 2 years but still good.

I have not experienced any throttling. Everything smooth as usual. Im thinking of change battery after Raya. Seems like my phone can still be use for another year or two.

After changing batter the water-resistant seal will no longer work right

XR is really marvelous. Charges fast and lasted long enough for every charge. Better change the battery later once required than carrying power bank. I would use my battery to the max and wear and tear is fine.
