Think or swim is now TD.

Depends on how you look at it. TD does not have access to other markets. Not to mentioned there's some pretty heavy withdrawal fees while IBKR give one free withdrawal a month.
You can forget about reply. They get backlog because they offer zero commission. So I heard they are still processing march application.
*
Ramjade Wow, $0 commission now. What's the withdrawal fees like? Couldn't find it anywhere in the FAQ

Usd25/withdrawal + subjected to markup exchange rates by Malaysian banks. biggrin.gif

Ramjade Thanks. TD mentioned that funding in S$ (no problem here as have Sg bank account). Do you know what exchange rate they use to convert S$ to USD when buying US stocks?

For FSM Singapore, we actually have to convert to USD using their forex rates which we can see how much it is first (before buying). If the conversion rate from S$ to US$ for TD is not good, no point using even if $0 commission. Any idea if they convert all our S$ at once when we do funding or they just convert it each time we want to buy?

No I don't know their exchange rate.

Yes need to use FSM exchange rate. Not the best rate but slightly cheaper than banks. Cannot beat IBKR rates though. If you sign up for autosweep, they auto convert for you.
Can. Kena charge USD25/withdrawal (TD side) + and additional charges by Malaysian banks + markup exchange rate courtesy of Malaysian banks = you get less money back. biggrin.gif  tongue.gif

Ramjade Thanks. The autosweep, you are talking is for IBKR right?

tda got more/better tools, e.g. for options trading, etc...not just pretty interfaces... but if you don't need them then is just fluff...

so depends what you want for... got other brokers maybe better suited for different needs

dwRK Does IBKR have tools like TD Ameritrade's heatmap (where you can see the different stocks bullishness/bearishness in each sector--technology, materials etc) and scanner (both fundamentals and TA)?

go sign up for demo & play play... they just need some very basic info...

anyways my tos (Linux, Windows) not working because of ip ban...

Thanks. Guess TOS is still one of the best software out there.
Will using VPN help with regards to ip ban. Not tech savvy and do not have VPN, but I read that for certain websites that Malaysia ban, you can access it via VPN.

You don't need to be tech savvy to use VPN.
But you do need to fork out money. Usually USD40-50/year.
If you are like me lucky to land a lifetime VPN deal, you just pay once.
*
Ramjade Thanks. What VPN is good? I always thought VPN was free but guess I was wrong.

Lifetime license. Paid about USD50-60 one time.

It doesn't matter how many phones/laptops you have or when you change to a new laptop/phone--still can you 1 VPN license right?

I use windscribe.
Cyberghost, private internet access is also good.

If windscribe offer me lifetime license again, I am more than happy to buy.

Thanks

5 devices. Can interchange. Now no more life time license by windscribe. They discontinue it.
You need to make sure your open vpn server is trusted.

Thanks

Just webull or tradingview for chatting
Those Vpn have reputation to protect. If they screw up, the privacy community will know and immediately boycott.
Openvpn is just a free program anyone can use. It's open source. The question which servers is he using. Using the wrong servers will let operators know everything.

For me security is where I don't compromise and hence I pay for them.

There's no need to have VPN to access TDA/ TOS. Just need to change your unifi dns to google dns 8.8.8.8 then can access dy.

QUOTE(francistcc @ Feb 3 2021, 08:46 PM)
The first pic is before change dns. If can't access will still have the contact tda info. Won't totally no connection. 2nd pic is after change dns.

Mine is Tiger Brokers. Message is something like this "refuse connection" if using Unifi. But using Celcom is able to connect. Luckily using Celcom. But have to learn/subscribe to VPN in case anything goes haywire next time
