I was recently added by a female user, which of course I'm very careful, but just want to verify if this is a scam and if anyone have fallen for it before. She told me that her wechat account is blocked, ( another wechat account ) and needs my phone number in order to unblock that account, so she sent me a picture which have 6 steps to unlock her blocked account, by doing that, I have to key in my phone number, that got my wondering, wouldn't that allow her to actually access into my own wechat's account one way or another ?

Sooo, is anything going to happen if I choose to give her my phone number ? Because sounds quite fishy, she said she needs my phone number in order to unblock her wechat account. Is there such a thing?

If her wechat account was blocked she wouldn’t be able to add you
Unless if she is doing it for her other account i dont know

From this video, it needs phone number to received TAC code, but why yours and not hers? wechat only block access from the app, it doesn't block her phone number from receiving sms

Edit: and usually wechat only block account that is has suspicious activities, which is a red flag ady

to help friend unblock account, u just need to send 4 numbers provided by friend to their account.
no 6-step process.
and you need to already be their friend in wechat BEFORE their account got locked.

Need YOUR phone number to unblock HER account? Looking at ts question, I am not surprised scammers still able to survive well in malaysia.

How is your number related to her account?

Just ignore her, simple.

Surprised you even take this request from a stranger seriously. Just because it is from a "female" isn't it? Just remember both genders can scam and anybody can claim to be female to reel in a testosterone charged clueless man.

Don't entertain her requests. Ask her to solve her own problems.
