I personally feel that is not fair for us because it is reasonable we bump all the threads at the same time. If we keep on bumping all threads at the same time and hog the screen space several times within a day, then that is not fair to all forumers but we are only allow bump the thread once a day, so it is fair enough to bump all the threads at the same time. Besides that, if there is 30 minutes gap between each post each time we bump, it is not fair. Eg: we bump all the threads at 12pm but some of our threads left behind few pages around at 9am. Next, I personally think that many "indirect bump" problems will occur.

p/s: This is my personal opinion, no offense here. Thanks notworthy.gif

First of all, you need to view the complaint made on user which hog the trade zone. Most of them have item which can be categorized in 1 thread instead made multiple.

Secondly, I think this is quite fair to the other user as well as there is quite a lot of user which have more than 5 thread alone but unfair to others which have 1 or 2 item to sell. Just look around. If all of them having bump fiesta, so where does the normal user which would like to sell the 2nd hand/used item be? As example, vC_cRe@tioN, based on your siggy, instead of having 3 used thread of handphone, why not you merge it in one?Nothing is wrong with having all in 1 thread, whereby search engine could search your keyword.

Thirdly, you can always pick your good time to bump. If you know the peak time of user in LYN, you will take the opportunity to bump the thread.
*
Normally i will merge 2 items in a thread, K700i and QD threads have merge 2 items in a thread but the 2nd item already sold so left 1 item only, if have new item then i will merge into the thread. And then the V3i thread was created before the second item of the k700i and QD thread sold, the "edit" date can show everything.

Btw, the peak time of user in LYN is what time?

QUOTE(wKkaY @ Jul 30 2007, 02:39 PM)
Not fair you say? It is the first page that is most valuable for a topic to be in. Mass bumpers push a whole page of other members' topics out to the second page irrespective of how long they've been there.

Added on July 30, 2007, 2:46 pmYou can't avoid having your threads getting pushed back, but you can schedule your bumps in a way that improves the situation.

Added on July 30, 2007, 2:48 pmIndirect bumps and duplicate accounts made to intentionally game the system will be dealt with the usual way.

Added on July 30, 2007, 2:50 pmOk actually i think i have another way to achieve this. Instead of pushing bumped threads back, i could schedule a auto bump for 30 minutes in the future. Better?
*
bro wKkaY, i think auto bump for 30 minutes in the future will better.

@vC_cRe@tioN: After looking at ur siggy, there is a general topic that i can think of?

Handphone
Sales and service

How hard is it to group all of ur sales and services under a single thread?

When u r here complaining about the 30 minutes bump interval, have u thought about those users who just have 1 ~ 2 threads?
*
bro zyrl, if group all my sales thread under a single thread, i think it will be very messy, right? so i put 2 items under a single thread because each sales item have include details and photo as well.

btw, i thought bro wKkaY need feedback from forumers, right? (It is stated at the announcement)
so this is just my feeback/opinion, not complain

QUOTE(KilJim @ Jul 30 2007, 07:40 PM)
Personally i feel that the proper solution would be to limit the number of threads a person has under the Trade Zone, instead of putting a time limit to bumping
So by allowing sellers to keep a ridiculous amount of threads, they're already being nice

Anyway, about the thing which you say are 'not fair', they only apply to sellers with that many threads in the first place (abusing the system i'd say)
If we continue to allow you to have an unlimited amount of threads, no regulated bump time then it becomes not fair for the other hundreds of users with only a small amount of threads
It looks like you're taking it on the perspective of yourself only
*
First, all the threads only can bump once a day, right? so regulated bump time point is?

Added on July 30, 2007, 8:27 pmLastly, hope the admin can come out with a proper solution such as bro wKkay's, jtcs87's proposal. I personally think that limit 2 threads bump at the same time and then another 2 threads 30 minutes in the future.

To fellow admin and moderator, this is just my personal opinion, no offense here, thanks notworthy.gif

I second what KilJim has said. The seller can also used the reserved post(after the 1st post for that purpose) for other product which fall in in same/similar category
It won't be messy if you know how to utilise the thread.
You could in fact use 1st post for item one, post 2 for item etc.
Used this http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/485002 as 1 of the reference and information that are necessary.

Referring to your http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?act=Sear...ult_type=topics

I don't think it is necessary to open up to 10 thread at 1 go alone in Handphone and Related Accessories? I mean come on, your used phone thread, i think there are 3 to 4 that can be merged together. Same goes to the sim card.
You might used the topic title as Used Handphone bla bla bla and used the topic description as various handphone to sell or used it to change the status or etc too right?

*
That is what i doing now, i post 2 items under a single thread, you can check it at my thread. If u mean that merge 4 items into a thread, i think it will be quite messy because used handphone need to attach the details and photo as well (the photo must cover every angle). I posting all the threads by following "format" that set by LYN. Regarding the starter pack, i selling hundreds of numbers and I seperately it according to 014 and 016, i think it is reasonable, right? If i merged hundreds numbers under a thread, you think it will messy or not? If you ask me merge the 012 thread into other thread, that is reasonable because i only sell few 012 numbers but not the 014 and 016.

up to 10 threads? Come on, i thought you already do survey before posting up your comment? The sales thread that i open not even reach 10 threads.

Lastly, the main point i post here is about the bump feature, hope admin can take consideration regarding "push back" and "put forward", i personally agree with wKkay's proposal which "put forward" to 30 minutes. Thanks

I mean how messy could it be?
You can just reserved 1 post for 1 item, use spoiler tag to hide up the picture, add your details..
do the same for the next item.. how hard could it be?
It doesn't need to be necessary 1 post 1 item. Some seller, particularly in Stuff for Ladies, some of you guys must learn from them. And for the starter pack, the same thing can be applied too.
1st post for 012, second post 014, third post 016. Isn't it more organized rather than having few redundant thread, and as well hogging the trade zone?

Simple said, if you have the will, nothing is impossible.

Cheers smile.gif

bro stevanistelrooy, i really wonder did you checked my threads before posting up your comment? Did you saw the "reserved" post at my thread? I posted 2 items in a single thread, not 1 thread 1 item, the k700i and the QD thread have 2 items under a single thread but i sold the 2nd item already, kindly check it carefully, thanks.

anyway, i will TRY to fit 4 items in a single thread if the admin insist want to "PUSH BACK" the thread, thanks notworthy.gif
