I’m due for a move to KL in the next two weeks and have found a condo to rent. The movers I engaged told me there’s no issues for them to move within Klang Valley, but the condo management informed me that they will not allow movers to enter during the CMCO period, not even for a couple of boxes (around 5 standard size boxes) and two mattresses.

I understand from the movers that this is the second condo they’ve come across that doesn’t allow moving during the CMCO period. Is there any workaround for this issue?

With a valid tenancy agreement. Condo management should allow you to move in.
Show them this FAQ. Clearly stated at point #15.

Point number 15 states that moving out is allowed, however, point number 14 states that moving in is not allowed. This two points are contradictory - how do you move out without moving in to another place? doh.gif

Read until the end of answer #15. Tenant is allowed to move in if signed a new tenancy agreement.

Ah, my bad, thanks for pointing it out. I’ll talk to the management using this document. Thanks again!

Yes agree, even the senior minister noted management cannot restrict renovation, management still holding the KPKT FAQ and disallow renovation till today.
The authorities instruction are not tally... haiz

Management insists moving in is not allowed during the CMCO. Landlord and agent also failed in the negotiations with the management.

Luckily the landlord was kind enough to return me my earnest deposit as my container is arriving soon. Managed to secure another condo unit to rent today, where the management is much more flexible.
