Would like to ask a noob question.

Notice that PMMMF is fixed NAV but with monthly distribution.

However, RHB Cash Management Fund 2 (RHBCMF2) has variable NAV but no distribution.

If I want to know which is better, what metrics do I look at for an apple to apple comparison?
*
For performance can try compare by calender year ROI track record?
Is their 3yr volatity% same?

Thanks. Just saw I can compare their cumulative growth % across different periods. RHB is slightly more volatile than PMMMF. But overall I think PMMMF is better.

May I know if we can open a PMMMF account without going thru an agent?
*
googled and found this...
maybe you can try explore into this site to see if you can buy it without going thru agent?

May I ask buying PMMMF require to open a brokerage account with Philip mutual or any CDS account is fine?

The website mention can open an account online and fund the MMF using bank transfer to the designated account. Yet, I cannot find their online account page.
*
do you mean this?

Thanks for both of your reply.

Yes, I saw the information in Philip Mutual page.

For the eunittrust, what are the charges for investors to use the platform to buy fund besides the charges by the fund itself.
*
try this?
Online Sales Charge
https://www.eunittrust.com.my/Home/FundCharges

also if you are concern of the sales charges and if you are not in a hurry to buy one...periodically they have 0% Sc promo

ok, just to clarify, the page does not stated the amount of each charges but do they no have charges to investor and just a remainder to investor that all fund have charges (exclude promotion)?

For the charges by the fund itself, we need to refer to the fund sheet attached in the platform or from the fund company website.
*
if you mean PMMMF, then refer to post 28.....
there is a link to the factsheet....as that fund is from Phillip

for other funds...i think should refer to the website,.....before you buy they "should" display the charges to be incurred.
as the Factsheet is by the FH...thus the SC printed "should" be for general use and may not applies to buying from eunittrust

Yeah, July's distrubution is not in yet, weird, it's been 6 days since the ex date, June's was credited on the ex date, only this time it's been omitted

A few months, sitting there waiting for the next crash. Usually they're pretty fast, annouce ex date, same day or next day already reinvested, this time oddly enough my account was not credited with the distribution 6 days since the ex date.

This fund is distributing the profit/interest yearly instead of monthly right?

Based on their 2020 distribution is just 1.8%, a bit lower than the Philips mmf.
*
the that link earlier...
can see the total returns in % of that fund in 1 month, 1 year, 3 years and since inception
can see the annualized returns in % of that fund in 1 year, 3 years, 5 years and since inception
can see the YTD, calendar returns for 2017, 2018 and 2019

Is there any website that I can view Public bank PUBLIC e-CASH DEPOSIT FUND past monthly interest distribution and latest purchase price of the day?

When we want to know the interest rate given by the mmf, we should refer to annual return or distribution per unit?

Here is the link of the fund:
https://www.publicmutual.com.my/ProductHighlights.aspx
*
for monthly distribution data...
try this
https://www.publicmutual.com.my/LinkClick.a...8%3D&portalid=0

for latest purchase price
try this for latest NAV
https://www.publicmutual.com.my/Our-Products/UT-Fund-Prices

i would see the fund performance for that year instead of distribution per unit

Hi peeps. I'm learning to do some investment.
Downloaded the app Versa am gonna try that out, was told its interest is slightly better than conventional FD.

Is there any other investment that is not that high risk that a beginner like me can try out? Is Crypto good?
*
thumbup.gif but the risk is alot lot higher,...but you can still enjoy it with ease if the % you put into crypto is "little" in relation to the amount of investable money you have

it was mentioned,..."is approximately", and "Projected rate"

there is NO mentioned that there won't be losses or the rate will be guaranteed like published for Fixed deposit during depositing

it was stated in SA website, there maybe a chance of loss
and already stated in Versa website,..."The value of the Units may goes down as well as up. Past performance is not an indicative of future performance"

what is the duration of this "parking"?
during this "parking' what is the purpose?.....
make money without losses?
make money with some % of losses?
just park, without any intention of profit or losses?

ease of getting the money into another investment
in less than 1 day?
in less than 1 week?
or ?

QUOTE(Ramjade @ Aug 4 2021, 07:28 PM)
Duration depend on you. How long do you want to park your money there.
Purpose could be depend on you. Some just want like FD returns since FD in sg is so low. So they want the 3-4%p.a that Malaysia FD use to give them. Could be for upcoming purchases. Could be for while waiting for stocks to crash to buy cheaply. Could be money needed for a huge transaction coming soon. Cathie woods uses FAANG as her parking place as cash.
No one will park without any intention.
That's the idea. By buying FD/bond type companies you are expecting  if market drop by say 10%, your investment only drop say 1%.
You cannot avoid losses if you use those stocks as parking place. The goal is to get best return (better than FDs, bank interest rate, mmf)  and minimising your loss so you can go scoop up things when they are on sale.

Unlikely you will get them out in a day.
Generally 2 days.
If you are in margin you could get them out the same day as you sold them. You just sell and money will be available in your brokerage account and you don't need to wait for 2 days for money to clear and can use the money striaght away without incurring any interest as your net balance did not turn negative (if you are using Interactive broker. I think it applies to other brokerage as well).
*
if it is based on "depends"...
then REITS may not be suitable to every situation....for it "depends"

For those in sg market only one REIT can do that. Parking place and that's parkway life.

If you go us market so many companies can function as parking place. You only need to look.
*
i doubt that no matter where one looked, those Reits cannot be as liquid as MMF for immediate fund transfer when opportunity arises....
(in terms of hours or less than 1~2 day)

i could be wrong, bcos i may have looked at the wrong things, thus correct me if i am wrong on this shortest lead time scenario
