It would be better if they take out the 5G Modem and replace it with MicroSD reader or bigger battery, 5G is not necessary or needed now

QUOTE(khreve @ May 15 2020, 01:43 PM) in 2020 who still need SD cards? lol..... get the 256GB storage... Many people still prefer to have SD Cards, local backup / storage is better than cloud. Even 256GB runs out of space easily on my iPhone.I would skip 90Hz screen, but want OIS instead about 5G, nah..... maybe in 2022/23..... |

QUOTE(attw @ May 26 2020, 01:03 PM) Well, the specs are different now. Like you said, just the LCD to AMOLED itself was a few hundreds difference. Yes during Tax Holiday, never been so good deal even after 1 year the price is still more expensive than my initial purchase price lolYeah, I think the early birds got a better deal as it was launched during the 3 months tax holiday when PH took over. |

QUOTE(sp6068 @ May 28 2020, 10:10 AM) Not really if you think about it. You got a brand new iPhone that costs less than that U know the internal cooling system is a gimmickAnd wtf is with the fan free gift? The phone already has a special cooling system, giving this as a free gift just makes it more suspicious. Blackshark Cooler is better than ROG2 Cooler But theres after market brand Maemo cooler that works equally good RM50 This Blackshark Cooler can be sold for RM100+ Effectively 8+256 is RM2499 if you are not fond of the given cooler |

QUOTE(Someonesim @ Jun 8 2020, 01:17 AM) I lazy go study, but generally. Depends on telco, each telco might have each preference of bands they use. Each Telco can only deploy based on the BAND Licensed to them or they leased from other company that are being licensed by the Gov.Another thing, how long you wish to use ( like in real life you really keep using ) the phone, coz 5G in Malaysia near non existence this year, next year also wont have meaningful enough coverage. Personally I skip every info/spec for 5G on new released phone. Basically gimmick now. Digi and Celcom 4G are being licensed from someone. |

QUOTE(attw @ Jun 8 2020, 11:06 AM) I don't think 5G should be a consideration right now for getting a phone in Malaysia coz I think we're at least 3 years or more away from seeing 5G implemented on a wide and meaningful way in our country. There was also an article of some sort about the Galaxy S20 Ultra not supporting some 5G band in Malaysia too and that's a RM5000 phone. If you're buying the Poco F2 Pro and planning to use it for at least the next 5 years or so then I do believe that your concerns are valid, and hopefully someone here from the Telco industry or subject matter expert can help clarify this for you 5G Catalyst will not be Smartphone ownership.Yes, but most reviews of the cameras are just average at best, with the exception of the macro camera. Seems that one is pretty good Smartphone drives 4G IoT drives 5G So, please ignore 5G for now. By the time change next phone, 5G is not even fully deployed in Malaysia yet. |

QUOTE(attw @ Jun 8 2020, 11:18 AM) Yup, couldn't agree more! It's just that if you want to get a phone with a SD865 processor now, Qualcomm is forcing you to pay for the 5G hype. I wouldn't consider trying this F2 Pro if it wasn't priced below RM2k Yes, only if we can opt out the stupid 5G lol.But F2 Pro adoption and the hype is not that, I am still waiting ROG3 announcement |

QUOTE(Someonesim @ Jun 8 2020, 11:45 AM) Sorry on my poor wording, was meant for that. Yes, they are starting to show their true colors now. Imagine the license fee being paid to them for every mobile phone sold in market.Qualcomm always about monopoly, even though all those EURO body try to stop that. They saw opportunity, coz most other SOC manufacturer not yet reaching 5G milestone as Qualcomm. |
