Yesterday i went to Gadget Pro by Novacell located in SS2, they are charging RM 49 / RM 59 for 1 screen protector. Is that normal? It sounded quite crazy for me. NinjaZ is only selling the full screen protector around RM 8 which does not suit the original casing.
*
See the brand and quality. I never bother those NinjaZ screen protector, give me free also dont want biggrin.gif

Minimum I will get genuine Nilkin one, below rm50/40

I never encountered ads on poco f1 and current mi9T

But then I never use ANY of xiaomi stock apps except Camera and Setting.
I installed Chrome, google clock, google calendar, calculator etc. Many of those xiaomi stock apps, requesting you to accept 'terms and condition' thing when first launch, I immediately decide not to use. It's always fishy when they need to ask your consent even for simple apps.

How about the Gallery?
*
Google Photo biggrin.gif
File = Solid Explorer
Email = Gmail
SMS = Messages ( Google )
Video = MX Player
Music = Poweramp

and using Nova launcher ( then hide all the unused redundant apps, mostly xiaomi one )

Sadly phone apps also stock xiaomi, now recalled Themes and Wallpaper also xiaomi.

Ya, but the punch hole on the 8 pro is a huge turn off to me 😭. I'm hoping they will change that in their next iteration, at least in the next 2 years since I have pledged myself to not change my phone every single year lol.

The Nord has the inferior chipset, but they are banking on the software and user experience to sell the phone. The F2 Pro certainly is more value for money, but MIUI is not everyone's cup of tea smile.gif
*
I dont mind the chipset, as my current mi9T non pro SD730 are good enough for my daily usage ( no gaming ). Current gen SD7xx are quite powerful, unlike few years back.

QUOTE(freddy manson @ Jul 23 2020, 07:46 AM)
true, but so does oxygen OS is not exactly fancy to everyone
i think that the Nord wont be pulling potential buyers from Poco F2pro just because of the pricing alone
*
Ya, unless OP Nord have much lower price tag than F2pro, which are unlikely.

For me, I would consider OP Nord if it's price are rm200-300 lower than F2 pro hmm.gif

the Nord is 399 euro
that kinda translates to RM2k  icon_idea.gif

Ya, but let's wait. Coz usually europe pricing are much higher than most of the world.

No, not on your home screen, only on the stock Mi apps like Cleaner, File Manager, etc.
*
hence dont use their apps biggrin.gif I think only contact and dialer in my mi9T are stock xiaomi, everything else I replaced with Google or 3rd party, even the calculator or clock ( alarm ) tongue.gif
I have zero ads in my phone, no root not EU rom etc.

looking at the aggressive discount on f2 now just 3 mth after launch, it seriously show poco/xiaomi has misjudged their branding position.

bet they wanted to follow OP, to shift from flagship killer to flgaship. But what they miss was even Apple is lauching low end phone to boost sale.
*
They should not, xiaomi already have their own Mi line up that's reaching flagship pricing, I dont even consider xiaomi main lineup ( mi 9, 10 etc ) anymore as price just high.
Poco should be like international version of Redmi.

I guess they become greedy after seeing hype and popularity of Poco F1

Well, at least they’re amending it fast enough.

Meanwhile OP Nord...
*
Nord, still no official price in msia, waiting game.

QUOTE(msacras @ Aug 10 2020, 08:12 AM)
Haha, joking only.

I’m someone who use and keep phones for a long time, RV don’t matter to me. Deswai I only buy phones that’s cheap or well worth its price. Originally eyeing on Mix2s already, but 8.8 didn’t have great discount voucher for it, so I waited and everything else is history.

I guess the price drop is only possible now? Maybe Qualcomm managed to lower their SD865 price now that it’s almost Q4 of 2020 already;
1. SD865+ already out
2. SD875 round the corner
3. most flagships already been launched in the earlier time of the year, so may be less demands now for flagship chips
4. maybe COVID-19 global lockdown affected the sales of flagship phones
*
Good points, and IMO they might be monitoring OP Nord also, and aggressively adjusting price to undercut it. Regardless of OS optimization ( which only geek cares ), on paper spec, poco f2 pro ultimately win even if price at similar to Nord.

Good point. If they launch more expensive than Poco F2 Pro, there'll be lots of push back. How much of a premium is one willing to pay for the OxygenOS experience and "alleged" smoothness? For me personally, not that much!
*
Only tech fans / geeks care biggrin.gif

That's my struggle, mind tells me f2 pro better spec ( even though I dont hate MIUI, but I need to customize a lot to hide pre-installed Mi apps or stock launcher ), heart want Nord ( because One Plus biggrin.gif )

Even laymen non-techy also can see 865 is 100 more than 765 laugh.gif
*
I expect 765G to be more than enough for most user. The ARM architecture are high end core, but lower frequency of coz. I recall it's performance are between 835 and 845, which is not bad. With 765G having advantages of lower power usage.

My current mi9T SD730 are more than satisfied for me, it's not like old time ( where below SD8xx are near rubbish tongue.gif ) And 8 hours SOT battery life convince me that I want high end SD7xx

Even gamer I suspect will be enough. For gamer I think 865's advantages are just you can game for long hours without thermal throttle affecting too much on performance.

But most people see SD8xx vs SD7xx will immediately decided which they want laugh.gif

Actually SD765G’s GPU is far weaker than SD845, the flagship chips 2 years ago.

*
Yeah, hence I mentioned between 835 and 845
and hence why I said gamer ( hardcore long hour ) would benefit from 865, as much powerful GPU even at throttled performance will still be good, compared to throttled SD765G.

CPU wise, 765 is decent enough to trade blow with 845.

GPU wise, 765 can even be marginally weaker than 835.
https://www.notebookcheck.net/Adreno-620-vs...4.247598.0.html

That’s why if you don’t really need the 5G (and don’t mind the weaker battery life), SD845 is easily the better choice.
*
For sure we dont need 5G, non existence, even at most of the first world country. If Qualcomm dont die-die-throat-fed 5G to us, we'll be getting cheaper phone in 2020 mad.gif

I'm quite happy with these new gen SD7xx chipset, as someone like me, who dont game at all, would able to enjoy phone with enough performance while enjoy longer battery life.

OP just unlock 90fps for PUBG ( i think exclusive for now ), but Nord are not in compatible list. I believe it cant handle 90fps at high/max graphic.

MIUI isn't for everyone, but the fact that you don't hate it is a good thing. I tried the Poco F2 Pro but decided I prefer Realme UI on my current Realme 6 smile.gif
*
But you see, I use custom launcher to mask most of it, ignore almost all stock apps and use custom icon pack.
Reason I don't 'hate' them are because so far I don't see issue with performance, and no bug so far.

Not really, I check battery usage 1-2 days, when I'm about to charge phone.
