If price is above RM2K, better take K30 Pro Zoom and install Poco Launcher if needed. You get better camera and OIS.
*
Fingers crossed for 1,999 smile.gif

It doesn't say the warranty by who.

I think that's a bit expensive if it's the official MY price.

base spec already 2.6k, way above than what I estimated at 2.4-2.5.

Goodluck with the sales.
*
Too close to Mi 10 and OP8 prices already if that is the case.

doesn't justifies at all, the k30 price range is aroun 1.2k-1.4k, by that I expect the PRO version should be only most to most +500.

Same case for the previous K20/K20pro/Mi9t/Mi9tPro.

Mi9t original retail price was at 1499 during release, pro version was 1799. Now thanks to all but no use 5G chipset, the price jack up to nearly 3k. I'm using op7t now, never regret except missing audio jack
*
Cheapest K30 Pro I found is about RM1,999. Doesn't make sense for the Poco F2 Pro to cost fee hundreds more than that since it's essentially the same phone.

what a laughing joke seriously, I hope everyone is smart enough to notice that and not to make any hasty purchase yet, let them eat the the bullet and start reducing the price.

QUOTE(Someonesim @ May 19 2020, 09:02 PM)
For similar price, most sensible people will choose OnePlus 8, for much better OS optimization and support.
*
Yeah, anything above RM2.2k and people will consider other better options. We’ll have to wait and see.

RM2.6k just for the base model??? Dear xiaomi and your distributor, just who are you trying to fool with? Or the theory that this phone is just a scapegoat to boost your mi 10 series is true after all?  bangwall.gif  rclxub.gif
*
I'm sure that's just the dealer trying to cash in on those early adopters. Don't think that will be the official price when it launches here in Malaysia.

I seriously can't recommend the iPhone SE at RM1,999 to any Android enthusiasts bro, even though I am a self-proclaimed i-Fag laugh.gif

Resale value after 24 months:

Hahaha, that's quite a good way of seeing it. Must admit there is some truth in that, although I do think iPhone resale values are not as high as they used to be smile.gif

QUOTE(azhar75 @ May 20 2020, 09:41 PM)
My hypothesis:

This year is the cheapest iPhone SRP we can get.

Starting next year, once Mr. Timmy "migrate" their manufacturing outside of China, the "25% increase" SRP will be borne by the end-user.

Thanks to Donald "J"oker Trump for starting the Trade War with China. All Apple products price will sky-rocket next year.

As for Android platforms, we have plethora of choices especially mid-range prices.

Mr. Timmy's community will suffer next year onwards. So much for the eco-system strategy...

Hence, the demand for second-hand units "will" increase back again next year. So better buy the iPhone SE now and enjoy high resale value in year 2021 onwards...

Hopefully Joker Trump gets replaced by Sleepy Joe in November laugh.gif

This is spot on. At that price, the iPhone SE is definitely a better option. The only downside is the screen, but most people can live with that.
*
The best thing about the iPhone SE isn't the specs, but that the processor is well-equipped to run the next 4-5 years without any problems and that Apple will provide constant software updates. Hence how our bro Azhar's calculation on cost of ownership is derived smile.gif

It’s not always about the specs, as I’ve learned bouncing back and forth between iOS and Android over the years. I’m on Android now but will be going back to iOS after my phone gives up. The SE is definitely an attractive mid-range phone with solid price.

The latest Pocophone lost it’s biggest selling point, which is the lowest price for a mid-range phone.
*
Yeah, with the iPhone it's never about specs.

Anyways, let's see the official MY price when it launches here. One thing is for sure, it won't be RM1,2** as per the old Poco F1.

Just got my k30 pro zoom this evening... Something is definitely off with this phone's battery performance.

Its kinda insane by my usage standard. All my previous phones had around 3000mah battery (biggest was Note8), but all of them can barely survive 3.5 hours SOT. But this phone is currently reaching 4hrs mark and still have 65 percent of battery charge. Sure the battery size is definitely bigger, but I didn't expect it to be this good.
*
So you've already got the K30 Pro Zoom which is a better version of the Poco F2 Pro already, hahaha. If Xiaomi made the Redmi K-series available globally then there really is no need for this rebranding exercise, hahaha..

In terms of battery life, yeah, that's kinda expected for a 4700mAh battery. That's why my minimum requirement when getting an Android phone is a 4000mAh battery - Anything below that isn't great for heavy usage laugh.gif I'm currently using the Realme 6 with a 4300mAh battery, also getting an average about 10% battery usage per every hour of SOT - and considering it's a 90hz refresh rate screen, that's pretty good smile.gif

90hz with 10% battery drain per hour, wow im really impressed! I think mine can survive 9hrs SOT more or less but I don't think all my previous phones can exceed 6hrs if they are given the same size of battery. And yeah 4000mah should be the minimum standard by now.
*
Yeah, plus being indoors and using WiFi instead of LTE helps as well. I typically only use about 4-5 hours SOT in a day (anything more might constitute as antisocial behaviour, hahaha) but usage has increased a lot during the MCO. For me the acid test for phone battery is for it to be able to do 2 days (48 hours) standby and total of 10 hours SOT in that span. We call it the 10-hour SOT club, as founded by azhar75 smile.gif For me so far, I've tested 5 phones that made it into that club: Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1, Realme 5, Samsung S10 Lite, iPhone 11 Pro Max and Realme 6 smile.gif

Fun fact: Cheapskates never die. Hahahahahahaha. I know a number of people who love to go to Starbucks every now and then but still refuse to pay android app that costs less than rm5.

Sigh... Guilty as charged laugh.gif

yeah IAP is future.

Some developer even did the unethical move to adopt IAP.
One example is Cerberus security apps ( powerful ) which we paid for lifetime licence. End of last year, developer turned greedy and make the 'lifetime' license expired, and asked us to subscribe  ranting.gif
Hmmm, so poco f1 not capable of joining 10 hours SOT club ? I can get 7 hours SOT on it, normal usage ( browsing website etc ) which are best so far in my smartphone life.
*
I've never tried the Poco F1 bro. Maybe our bro azhar75 can shed some light here? smile.gif

Wow! Still considered made it to your 10 SoT club rclxms.gif

So morale of the story, need to flash EU ROM for it to have better consumption?

Apparently, yes; becoz stock ROM is heavily having "nuisance activities" running in the background....

Ahh, OK. Looks like this EU ROM is quite a miracle worker then. Yeah, that's why I'm not a big fan of stock MIUI, lots of "nuisance activity" in the background as you put it laugh.gif
