What do you all think of replacing original batteries with aftermarket(good branded) ones?

original lasts the longest for me. Aftermarket batteries for temporary use is ok imo, after around 5-6 months mine started depleting quicker and quicker, then I would charge it so many times till it began swelling. I would prefer to get an original. I can't remember the brand I got, but its an OEM brand with their own logos and care instructions, not a direct copy of the original battery with cheap internals. Those are worst, small capacity since the beginning and require frequent charging.

Where did you get the original?

From what I know, most stores like shopee or lazada are selling knockoffs even though they claim to be original/OEM.

The prices are not much of a difference, always go with original battery.

That is very obvious to go for original battery if the prices are almost the same.

But most importantly where can you find them? Almost every phone now comes with non-removable batteries and all those batteries in lazada, shopee are crappy knockoffs although claim to be original/OEM. Going back to the service center means you will need to leave your phone there and I doubt the price is almost the same as aftermarket ones.

Buy from a reputation seller or official store on Lazada/Shopee.

It's a BOLD statement to say all sellers on Lazada/Shopee are seller fake batteries.

Reputable seller selling original batteries - that is an oxymoron. Sorry to burst your bubble, but the only 100% genuine batteries being sold on Lazada/Shopee are the removable ones suited for older Samsung,etc models.

Manufacturers never partnered with of these online distributors/sellers to sell their nonremovable batteries. That is why they always tell you to go back to the service center for battery replacement.

If you happen to see any genuine batteries being sold there, chances are it is a fake/rebranded OEM/refurbished/illegal original batteries that got its way out somehow. Even the packaging they arrive in looks dodgy as hell.

i was talking about removable ones from older phones, i get them from local phone store, never online coz I dont know what crap they will be sending. didn't know from your first post what type of batteries u meant. the built-in ones i'm not sure, never had experience changing these. save a little more to go for original I would say, you'll never know whats going on inside since its aftermarket and no warranties(one month at most, but problems dont come within such a short time), and its built-in, you cant take a peek occasionally. Manage with powerbanks in the meantime if still possible. Take care of your phones "contents" before leaving it with the service centre lol.

I’ve given up on aftermarket batteries. All three times I used them, the batteries only lasts about half-a-year before losing most of its capacities. This is for my previous iPhone.

I'm surprised you are still using a phone with removable battery.

I'm sending my phone back to the service center since there is exstock.

couldnt let go of it, feel its a waste to sell it for only 700 bux, dropped to less than 1/3 of its ori price back then, and its really customised to my liking. so I just maintain it with another number. and its android, i can get the best of both worlds now.
