Just wondering what is the best combination of Recording Pixel and Compression for a reasonable File Size? I'm not good with photography, what would be a decent File Size for a digital photo? 1-2MB? Assuming storage is no issue.

I've been trying out these combinations but still unsure which is the best to go with for the best looking photos within a decent File Size:-

Recording Pixel
Large - 3264 X 2448 pixels
Medium 1 - 2592 X 1944 pixels
Medium 2 - 2048 X 1536 pixels
Medium 3 - 1600 X 1200 pixels

Compression
Superfine
Fine
Normal

Which would be more important? Recording Pixel or Compression?

If you're just going to take photos and develop them straight away and not going to edit/crop it using photo editing programs,

I suggest using Medium 3 - 1600 X 1200 pixels in FINE mode.

You will need only around 2MP to print a descent 4R photo.

Do hike up the resolution if you're gonna take a portrait photo/group photo that you might want to enlarge when you develop your photo.

here's a guide for you to read up. Go to print section.
