Yup. there are going to be tons of photogs out there, myself included! To the previous question. it's two weeks long, from 18 Aug to 2 Sep, so plenty of opportunities to get great shots from different views. I think the official website is: http://www.mifc.com.my/

There're some tips in the post on this event in the sticky thread at the top. I think they're quite valid, since I had some problems getting good shots in Battersea last Nov....

The only thing I know for sure is that a tripod is a must. Probably would be a good idea to use a cable/remote release if you have one as well.

A couple weeks ago I bought a remote release for my D70s and was excited as hell. Until I noticed that the receiver is at the front of the camera! But I guess with the long exposures for the fireworks, standing in front of it to trigger the shutter won't matter that much. Or maybe I can rig a reflector with some aluminum foil... any ideas?

Relax man... don't have to reduce everything down to dollars and cents!

A government which doesn't put up a fireworks display for its national day is a sad government...

Im not sure how they plan of going with the RM38- RM180 Ticket charges on this, but based on this map from the website, its possible to get shots from across the lake on the left of the pic I think. I have to scout that area beforehand...... sweat.gif
