it didn't mention about that either.
so I assume it's new and genuine product.
I mean what's the catch?

Legit, their reviews on Shopee / Lazada is quite high.

US units are way cheaper, if I am not mistaken their products are always on sale, especially 3rd party retailers like B&H - also certain states are tax free so their pricing differs by states as well.

If unsure, better buy from authorised dealers. Saving that small amount is not worth the risk. Warranty may also become an issue later on if anything happens.

Seem like even shopee got some dodgy seller. Came across this when surveying for Ipad. Untill now Apple still undisputed leader for overall tablet experience

I bought MacBook Pro from them before MCO.
Item is legit and new (not refurbished). Confirm is US imported set, but seller include free UK adapter.
The catch probably 'ahem ahem' money lo but who cares as long as I got a good deal. smile.gif

Any issues with warranty claim in Malaysia for an imported set? Machines and Switch are still obligated to take it in for service as long as it is still within the warranty period right?

Macbooks are covered by international warranty, unlike iPhones. No problem whatsoever.

Ah okay.. I've heard stories where authorised service centers in Malaysia refused to accept international warranty. Probably just a once off case.

Not sure though, but like Hilarion mentioned, should have no issue.
With the 20% saving, if there is some issue that I can't resolve myself, I'll just get those third party repair shop to get it fix.

From what I know, Apple genius doesn't have good reputation for fixing stuff whistling.gif

Superdeal.it (Shoppee) is legit. I can only vouch for the Mac and not iPhones.

For the Mac, international warranty is default and you can also get AppleCare from them (superdeal.it) and it's a great price as well.

you need to chat w/ them (have patience, they are not responsive. I did like WhatsApp / Shopee chat and sometimes thru multiple ppl. keep on repeating myself)

caveat : the warranty date STARTING date won't be the same as they day you got the Mac. it may be >1 week BEFORE. (I guess it's activated once they got the Mac from USA and ship to Msia. Really not sure how they are able to do this sort of thing)

Sometimes, the prices are even better than what I can see being advertised in USA (BH / Amazon w/ USD300 discount and etc)

IIRC, iPad warranty is international.

@myjunk you will have that happen when the person / company is buying the Mac and re-selling it to you.
How Apple tracks the date of sale is simple, all authorised partners must report their sales via serial number.
So if I am an authorised partner and sell the Mac directly to you, then the receipt I issue to you will be accepted by Apple for warranty verification.
If I sell it to Mr X (who isn’t an authorised partner) and he sells it to you 5-7-10 days later, that’s too bad, the warranty starts the day the authorised partner reports the sale.
I had one experience where I sold a display to a customer, it had been on our shelf for nearly 7 months and we had to call in to AppleCare to verify the customers warranty start date smile.gif

Yap... a lot of us dun care as Long as the price is cheaper and makes sense despite losing like 2weeks to 1 month of warranty start.

My initial question was how they managed to get such good prices. Possibly they are purchasing and re-selling educational discount Macs? (How would one know?)

if we could find out *how* none of us would be here ... we'd be doing the same thing. tongue.gif

Maybe they have a supplier / distributor to give them volume discounts?
yes its also possible that they're reselling educational Macs... its not possible to find out unless you have a friend who works inside Apple and can trace the purchase history of that particular Mac.
