KUALA LUMPUR: There is good news for Big Sweep followers. Commencing with Draw 3/13, which will be drawn on Feb 17 2013, there will be some changes to the existing prize structure of Big Sweep. The changes apply to Jackpot Prize and Scratch & Match.


“The Jackpot Prize is divided into Jackpot 1 and Jackpot 2, each with an allocation of RM500,000 per Draw.



Jackpot 1 is to be won by the First Prize ticket that has matched the Jackpot Number Drawn.



Jackpot 2 is to be won by any of the Second to Sixth Prize winning tickets that have matched the Jackpot Number drawn. If there is more than 1 winning ticket,


the Jackpot 2 will be shared equally,” explained Teh Wee Chin, general manager of Pan Malaysian Sweeps Sdn Bhd.

“The Jackpot Prize will be snowballed to the next draw if it is not won and there is

no limit on the size of the Jackpot Prize.


The Jackpot Prize was introduced in July 2000 and has been won 33 times by the First Prize tickets, and the amount won ranges from RM4.5 million to RM29.0 million. By dividing the Jackpot Prize into Jackpot 1 and Jackpot 2, part of the Jackpot Prize will be won more often, hence more excitement to the customers.



The Jackpot 2 also increases the potential winnings of the Second to Sixth Prize winning tickets,” he continued.

The Second to Sixth Prize winning amounts are

RM1,000,000, RM100,000, RM50,000,

RM20,000 and RM10,000 respectively.


Through Jackpot 2,the Sixth Prize winning ticket could well win up toRM510,000, or even more if the Jackpot 2 has snowballed to larger amount.




For the Scratch & Match prize structure, the most attractive prize is none other than the ‘car prize’, which is 2 units of

i still heard friend's friend strike proton persona. later they sold it.

KUALA LUMPUR: A young man from Johor won RM3.5mil after one of the 50 Big Sweep Draw tickets he purchased matched the first prize and jackpot number.

Pan Malaysian Sweeps Sdn Bhd in a statement on Friday (Feb 28) said the man in his 30s bought the tickets in Taman Pelangi Johor Baru.


"The lucky winner was attending a company dinner during Chap Goh Meh, which was the Thaipusam day, too.

"He won a RM500 ang pow during the lucky draw session, due to this, while his colleague and him were approached by the ticket seller, he bought 50 Big Sweep tickets," said the statement.


The man came to know that one of the tickets that he had purchased matched the first prize (6483507) and jackpot number - seven - on the next day after the Big Sweep Draw result was announced.

"He won a fabulous sum of RM3.5mil (first prize RM3mil + Jackpot RM500,000, and shared prize with third prize).

"In addition to this, the other 49 tickets matched the front number four of the first prize, 6483 and won another RM4,900 (RM100 x 49 tickets)," it stated.

It also said the second prize (4630431) was sold in Klang, Selangor with winnings of RM1mil.

"The third prize was sold through a selling agent who has a few ticket sellers working for him in Petaling Jaya, Damansara and Puchong."

In addition, Big Sweep gave bonus prizes of seven Perodua Myvis as well. One Honda Civic and another Mercedes GLA200 were also waiting for their new owners. Wish I was one of them!



Apparently, there was one really lucky fellow whose number, 4001094, came up twice in the draw, once for the RM3,000 prize and another for the RM1,000 prize.



Unfortunately not lucky enough for the grand prize! Big Sweep had started selling this Super 7 lottery since September 23


and the next round will start selling again on January 2 next year, where the draw will be done on March 11.






However, Big Sweep said that for the second phase, they would be introducing lottery tickets with “scratch and win” so customers would have to scratch and then check the back of the ticket for more information.


Big Sweep also mentioned that they would donate the surplus amount of money to Yu Cai Foundation to fund Chinese schools such as giving scholarships to students, buying equipment and hiring teachers.
