With the rise of scam cases and especially involving MBB, they are taking this measure to ensure you're opening an account with legit reasons. Words don't mean shit. Documentation or gtfo.

I can go to every single bank and open an account just by saying for salary crediting purpose. If all banks let me buka got what use?

Oh and scams. Lots of scammers love using BSN lol. After several scam cases reported on fb, they're still going around scamming with the same account number. This tells how much they actually care about suspending a fraudulent account.
