There's an item I wish to buy used, but it's really hard to find on Carousell MY. But on Carousell SG, I can easily find 4-5 of it being listed. I'm wondering, has anyone every bought from a seller on Carousell SG, and has the item shipped to MY? I understand it's risky, but based on my experience with Carousell, so far if the seller has good reviews, the risk of getting conned is low. So I'm thinking of taking the risk. Also, how much does it cost to ship from SG to MY for a small item that's less than 1kg?

Depending on the item. I use the Malaysian express bus service for my item. Pay the driver RM20 for his coffee.

Is it because you opted for express delivery? 3-4 days for international shipping is quite fast. Most likely I'll just have to hope that someone in MY decides to sell the item then.

Carousell is a bit of a hit & miss. A lot of scams and scammers - especially during the early days of COVID19 and mask shortages. Caveat emptor.

Are you looking for timepieces too? No, it's a guitar pedal. New one costs RM800, so I'm trying to find a used one for about RM400. I can easily find it in Carousell SG for $100-$150. Most likely I have to suck it up and buy a new one lah. Seems like it will cost upwards $25 just for the shipping alone.

QUOTE(haziqten @ Oct 12 2025, 09:50 AM) Hi, I'm looking for someone that can help to purchase an item from Carousell SG. I stay in JB so can meet here. I know of a friend who works in Singapore and occasionally travels to JB. Not exactly a close friend but more like a distant friend. He usually helps with Hifi purchases from Singapore but charges a small fee. Not sure if he would help or you would be willing to pay the fee. Old thread. I have bought an item from Singapore many years ago via Carousel. Not much of an issue though you need to pay additional fees where the bank will charge extra for the conversation from SGD to MYR, apart from the courier fees. Still, the item was cheaper than buying in Malaysia with all these additional charges included. The item costs more than RM2k and fortunately no tax when going through the customs. I do found some of the proxy service in reddit but the fee is too damn high. My item only cost $20 but the fees + shipping is more than that. If the fee is reasonable then I'm okay with it. Since I'm in JB, I can also pickup anywhere in JB.

Try putting yourself in their shoes-would you do it for that cheap? Using cheapest service like citylink also is around $6+ these days

The fee he is asking should be higher, I've forgotten, either RM100 or minimum RM200. Anyway you can drop him a message if you like, his number below.

I always drool at Singapore Carousell so many hifi items there and cheaper rate compared to Malaysia after the currency conversion... Yes, bought from him few times mostly cables. Bought some new cables, some used though it was quite some time back. The prices are mostly cheaper but if after conversion and additional fees the price difference is too close ie. RM100 or 200, it's not worth it so can buy in Malaysia. Singapore hifi dealers carry almost all brands you can find while Malaysia only carry limited brands. So for brands not sold in Malaysia, one can go to Singapore to buy.
