I know of a friend who works in Singapore and occasionally travels to JB. Not exactly a close friend but more like a distant friend. He usually helps with Hifi purchases from Singapore but charges a small fee. Not sure if he would help or you would be willing to pay the fee.

Old thread. I have bought an item from Singapore many years ago via Carousel. Not much of an issue though you need to pay additional fees where the bank will charge extra for the conversation from SGD to MYR, apart from the courier fees. Still, the item was cheaper than buying in Malaysia with all these additional charges included. The item costs more than RM2k and fortunately no tax when going through the customs.

I do found some of the proxy service in reddit but the fee is too damn high. My item only cost $20 but the fees + shipping is more than that. If the fee is reasonable then I'm okay with it. Since I'm in JB, I can also pickup anywhere in JB.

sorry to say this, but you can’t expect the runner to only charge 10% of your item’s value, right?they have to arrange time and everything.

Try putting yourself in their shoes-would you do it for that cheap?

Using cheapest service like citylink also is around $6+ these days

$20 is too cheap. You can't find the similar item in Malaysia? The fee he is asking should be higher, I've forgotten, either RM100 or minimum RM200. Anyway you can drop him a message if you like, his number below.

Yes, bought from him few times mostly cables. Bought some new cables, some used though it was quite some time back. The prices are mostly cheaper but if after conversion and additional fees the price difference is too close ie. RM100 or 200, it's not worth it so can buy in Malaysia. Singapore hifi dealers carry almost all brands you can find while Malaysia only carry limited brands. So for brands not sold in Malaysia, one can go to Singapore to buy.
