Hello guys, I just received my card which last 4 digit number is 5150. I have canceled this card and requested a new card because it has passed the delivery date and I did not expect the canceled card arrived to me. My newly requested card is 0328 and I have several transactions on it. May I know what should I do? I have already emailed Wise on this issue.

Wise Visa Paywave / Contactless / NFC:

1. Hong Leong - Ok @leo2010
2. Public Bank - Declined @leo2010
3. Maybank : McDonald's - Declined @The1stHumanBeing

If more people can share more info, we shall know whether it's certain bank disabled the NFC function over all of their terminals OR
just merchants turned off the NFC function at certain outlets.

Quite curious which terminal they're using as well.

Tried using Wise Card for Pepper Lunch in Pavilion Bukit Bintang, both wave transactions failed. The merchant used OCBC terminal.

Currently still only HLB terminal enabled for NFC and all others declined.

Now I'm curious those merchants that declined wise visa paywave, will they decline credit card's paywave issued by other banks as welll?
If answer yes, that means they really reject all NFC payments;
If answer no, that means something wrong with wise card.

During the application process to obtain the card, there is no kyc process needed. My account has been verified in first place. Perhaps I did transactions before to my SG bank account.

If you just opened a new Wise account with them and have not done any transactions but straightaway apply for a card, then maybe kyc needed?

Does it carry additional benefits ? I doubt it for prepaid/debit card ..

CIMB:
Yes, it’s the grey bulky terminal; dinosaur looking terminal

Anyway, thecurious I have not encountered any step which require me to top up during the whole application process. I am not sure if there is a need to top up during the activation process, however. Looking at previous post, it seems like I need to spend with the card at least once, in which case a prior deposit is needed.

My first step in ordering the card is exactly the same as shown in Ziet's video (time: 7:06) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8-2kIL1V5zs

The "verified your identity" part is done for my case (which I think is the "true KYC" part), the only thing left is address filling, choosing how name appears, courier method and potentially payment of 10 MYR in case the promotional period is gone.

Having the card alone isn't exciting. THere is so much fees for withdrawals. What the real draw?

I tried to use at 99. Failed. Its using the orange colour terminal which accepts TnGo ewallet, etc..

Based on what i'm reading, certain local bank terminals are still not accepting the wise card, could it also happen abroad when foreign bank terminals are not accepted?

Tried using Wise Card for FamilyMart in IPC, Mutiara Damansara; wave transactions successful. The merchant used Maybank terminal (grey & bulky with JCB support).

I use my Wise card at McDonald’s 1U and Starbucks (both Maybank terminals) those terminals are black and have a slim profile. Always reject wave & swipe transaction. But for insert payments, I have a choice of typing in my PIN or bypass PIN authentication by pressing green(OK)

It will withhold RM200 if you DIY.
It will not withhold RM200 if you paid at the counter.

I still think it's a lousy system.

Yes, no NTD available for trasfer for now. Taiwan has strict capital control measures, unlike SG or HK.

If i am not mistaken, it is only applicable to the fees charged.

For example, recently i transfer sgd1000 back through Wise and the fees charged is sgd5.56

So the new fees would be sgd5.56 x 1.06 = sgd5.89

Only about RM1 increase for every SGD1000 sent so its pretty negligible for me.

They sent email to me. Can check your registered email.

If the fee higher (send lots of money) then SST charges will  incur more also.
