Hello guys, I just received my card which last 4 digit number is 5150. I have canceled this card and requested a new card because it has passed the delivery date and I did not expect the canceled card arrived to me. My newly requested card is 0328 and I have several transactions on it. May I know what should I do? I have already emailed Wise on this issue.
*
Just wait for WISE to answer to you as we don’t know the transactional details doh.gif

Wise Visa Paywave / Contactless / NFC:

1. Hong Leong - Ok @leo2010
2. Public Bank - Declined @leo2010
3. Maybank : McDonald's - Declined @The1stHumanBeing

If more people can share more info, we shall know whether it's certain bank disabled the NFC function over all of their terminals OR
just merchants turned off the NFC function at certain outlets.

711 and 99 speedmart working fine both using Hong Leong terminal with wave or pin

Currently seems like only hong leong terminal working fine with paywave.

If anyone tried tesco, aeon and petrol stations pls let me know.
Quite curious which terminal they're using as well.
*
Those terminals are white wired or orange colour which is wireless are the ones by Hong Leong

Later will try Maybank ones to see whether it works or not

Tried using Wise Card for Pepper Lunch in Pavilion Bukit Bintang, both wave transactions failed. The merchant used OCBC terminal.

Is it grey color wired terminal?

Tried using Wise Card for llao llao in Pavilion Bukit Bintang, both wave transactions failed. The merchant used CIMB terminal.
*
If it is CIMB grey Color wired terminal which have a lot issues doh.gif

QUOTE(Kadaj @ Jan 13 2022, 09:25 PM)
Thanks, updated!
Currently still only HLB terminal enabled for NFC and all others declined.

Now I'm curious those merchants that declined wise visa paywave, will they decline credit card's paywave issued by other banks as welll?
If answer yes, that means they really reject all NFC payments;
If answer no, that means something wrong with wise card.
*
Nothing to do with merchant but it is from the bank side which mostly are not configured are to access universal card issued by VIsa or MC doh.gif

Even those mobile orange color can accept it with no issue so it is bank end doh.gif

QUOTE(TOS @ Jan 13 2022, 10:49 PM)
During the application process to obtain the card, there is no kyc process needed. My account has been verified in first place. Perhaps I did transactions before to my SG bank account.

If you just opened a new Wise account with them and have not done any transactions but straightaway apply for a card, then maybe kyc needed?

Not quite sure anyway.
*
Ekyc is needed is because for the card to be issue under account holder name doh.gif

Without physical card no need for ekyc

Btw anyone received the card with Visa Platinum on it?

Oh you have applied for the card too? The ekyc for your case is done during the application or after you have received the card?
*
Of coz ekyc done during card application doh.gif otherwise how on earth to print your name on the card doh.gif

QUOTE(leo2010 @ Jan 14 2022, 11:57 AM)

OCBC:
No, it’s a white slim profile card terminal

CIMB:
Yes, it’s the grey bulky terminal; dinosaur looking terminal
*
OCBC probably software problem hence not supported while CIMB should be hardware and software combo problem

QUOTE(TOS @ Jan 14 2022, 06:18 PM)
Oh ok. Just choosing how your name appear on card is "KYC". Fine.

Anyway, thecurious I have not encountered any step which require me to top up during the whole application process. I am not sure if there is a need to top up during the activation process, however. Looking at previous post, it seems like I need to spend with the card at least once, in which case a prior deposit is needed.

My first step in ordering the card is exactly the same as shown in Ziet's video (time: 7:06) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8-2kIL1V5zs

The "verified your identity" part is done for my case (which I think is the "true KYC" part), the only thing left is address filling, choosing how name appears, courier method and potentially payment of 10 MYR in case the promotional period is gone.

Will update more here later when card arrives.
*
KYC when you applying for the card will ask for ID documentation for it hence that’s the KYC for you doh.gif

This will only appear for those who are new to Wise prior to dec 2021 while those existing accounts doesn’t need this step doh.gif

Then you should have said earlier...

Facepalming doesn't resolve the misunderstanding.

Common sense tells you that why have some KYC process to onboard because of the account opening period

Tested with Maybank terminals at McDonald’s so the issue seems with the banks side as it is the problem limited to CIMB and OCBC machines doh.gif

Did anyone try with PBB machine?

Let me know what merchant use which terminal and I'll try to keep updating the list.

I'll be happy if you can share with us alternative solutions.

McDonald’s using Maybank no issue with wave or pin

QUOTE(Justmua @ Jan 15 2022, 12:58 PM)
I tried to use at 99. Failed. Its using the orange colour terminal which accepts TnGo ewallet, etc..

Ask the cashier to reset the terminal as it prone to hibernate and lose connection doh.gif

Based on what i'm reading, certain local bank terminals are still not accepting the wise card, could it also happen abroad when foreign bank terminals are not accepted?
*
Yes highly possible due to various factors in place

In general it will be around 80% successive rate

Same terminal as McDonald’s hence it should be successful most of the time rclxms.gif

I use my Wise card at McDonald’s 1U and Starbucks (both Maybank terminals) those terminals are black and have a slim profile. Always reject wave & swipe transaction. But for insert payments, I have a choice of typing in my PIN or bypass PIN authentication by pressing green(OK)
*
Those slim or black ones are the older terminal which are super problematic

Try with those grey ones by Maybank which have no issue so far with wave or pin

So far those are 100% hit rate for me rclxms.gif

Do you need SG address for this?
*
If you have read carefully within SG address there is limit of receiving and holding up to SGD5000 doh.gif

While others can receive up to SGD200k per transaction and no limit on holding but beware when FSI tax kick ins in 2026 doh.gif

QUOTE(ikanbilis @ Mar 25 2022, 06:03 PM)
If i am not mistaken, it is only applicable to the fees charged.

For example, recently i transfer sgd1000 back through Wise and the fees charged is sgd5.56

So the new fees would be sgd5.56 x 1.06 = sgd5.89

Only about RM1 increase for every SGD1000 sent so its pretty negligible for me.
*
Cannot escape the tax on the fee as always doh.gif

QUOTE(Davidtcf @ Mar 25 2022, 06:20 PM)
They sent email to me. Can check your registered email.

If the fee higher (send lots of money) then SST charges will  incur more also.

Check post 524 of this thread. Hoshiyuu share adi.
*
Possibly only additional rm1 to about rm3500 being transferred abroad

Maybe transferred to another currency and transferred intended currency’s but for sure incurred fx losses if timing is not right
