No worries, the Visa debit function works globally in most countries. As long as you have enough money in Wise, you can swipe it where Visa is accepted.

Why the emphasis on wave? I've used it overseas at retail stores and made ATM withdrawals using chip and PIN (4 digits), and it works fine.

you can use your Visa debit as long as there are sufficient funds in your Wise account across all currencies . You don't even need to convert it yourself. I mentioned Wise will auto convert to THB for you. The exchange rate after including conversion fee is typically still better than a money changer or credit card.

just came back from bkk and used wise as much as I could but there are still a lot of downside that I think they can improve on
but overall its not bad if you don't have a CC with 0 foreign transaction fee
if you do, its better to use the CC instead of wise

Can change country at wise app but it can't save.

Then I go to wise website change the country and it can save and update.
Create virtual card then add it to google wallet.

Money exchanger in Kuching quoted me 100 baht = 13.38 myr

In wise it's 12.96 myr to 100 Thai baht

So by comparing,

7000 Thai baht by money exchanger rate it's myr 936.6 myr

If I withdraw 7000 Thai baht through wise in Thailand plus their 220 baht atm transaction fee it's 907 plus 28 myr.

So... My as well I choose money exhanger right

You need to check live rates but anything above 7.50 is consider quite attractive

But money changer in EM will be expensive due to carrying costs from the FX currencies they are holding on hand

Stay away from HLB MCA as they are changing bank rates with 2% spread 🤦‍♀️

Better use BigPay instead or TnG Visa card if you either those

Conversion rate and final rate is different rate because the rate above is before charges 🤦‍♀️

After you go next check again the rate because I am sure the rate should not be higher than 7700 thb if you use live prices because HLB would have at least taken 40-50 to baht as the fees

You only need to compare with actual live rates because you should be getting 7.71 instead

RHB gives the best rate, better than even Wise and HLB to convert to USD.
