Just sharing my Wise card experience in Japan last week. I did not get a chance to withdraw money in Japan, however, I have no problem using the Wise debit card as long as the store accepts Credit cards, my card has a limit of USD 2K/day, if you are thinking to purchase some expensive stuff in Japan, you may check your daily limit as well. If you need to use your credit card, make sure there are zero foreign transition fees.
