Sorry Wise says it is NOT available, but you can open accounts in other currencies (currency balances)

I tried a 30GBP spend on Wise Card vs BigPay, Wise Card came out to be about ~rm4 cheaper. I might do this from now on. Very nice.

Can get. You will get a routing number for Wire, can't setup ACH though.

Just deposit and click send in multicurrency balance, and send with the personal balance account details they give you. I deposited with GBP, USD and SGD this way.

I even withdrew GBP from IBKR to Wise at 0 fees.

Weird. I asked them, and after some back and forth, they made it available to me. I'm a Malaysian citizen that never been to US UK or SG. I have both multi currency balance and account. Even managed to pay in MYR ✌️

Wise damn stupid. So they tried sending me the card via DHL without writing phone number on the label, they missed delivery once, heng I managed to call DHL ask them to put my phone number.

I chat with customer support telling them they need to write phone number for Malaysian users, they aruged it's omitted for security reasons. My ass.

So we can use this Wise multi currency account to save in foreign currency like bank's foreign currency account?

Yes. And you can actually accept payment like a local, the bank account number are uniquely yours, no need for txn ref code.

OK lah, there are few things I dislike about wise debit card.

1. You cannot set a default currency.

For example, your income is in SGD, your live here and you gonna spend MYR most of the time from the card. But if your MYR balance is exhausted, it will reach into other currencies first before touching SGD, because they charge lower fees for USD/MYR than SGD/MYR.

So if you manually change money from SGD to USD, then spend MYR, it converts USD to MYR, you just kena double conversion, 2x the transferwise fees. Yikes.

2. It is not cheaper than bigpay for certain purposes.

Bigpay overseas ATM fees are currently still more favourable than Wise.

3. When they deliver, you need to call DHL manually to add phone number - or it will just keep failing to deliver.

Like I said above, security my ass, they macam don't understand how Malaysians sign and retrieve courier deliveries.

Other than that, being able to use Apple Pay with MYR is damn syok man. EMV tokenizations like Apple Pay is the safest way to pay with card.
