Hi Guy, Any current Sony Xperia 1 user mind to share the feedback on phone heat, software crash issue or any other issue? Keen in getting this Sony Xperia 1 ii, but saw some other thread mentioning Sony Mobile already pull out from Malaysia. What will happen to warranty claim later on in Malaysia
I've followed the feedback from ChuanHong on this thread, seems pretty positive all around. Maybe he can add more
Thanks for the head up, hope to get more details before jumping to Android again.
Side note, from some user in Sony Community Forum. The previous Sony Xperia 1 can now watch 4K in the Amazon Prime video app.

All warranty claim now will be under Sony Malaysia. They are the one bringing Xperia to Malaysia since last year.
Do you mind to share on the Software update policy from Sony? From the net they commit for 2 year support after launch on all their flagship model, does previous model tend to have longer than the committed time frame on the software update??

Initially they thought pull out from Asia region.. however, in the end they are launching the phone through sony store only.. no longer go though phone stall/shop.. that's what i knew..
Sony Xperia 1 that im having is basically 95% fine to me.. but there is some issues to me.
1. I having a memory card issue when launch camera app.. (once a while..).. assuming once a week.. However, relaunch the camera will fix it.. just not sure why.. im using SANDISK EXTREME PRO (the most expensive one..).. other than that, i think no issue like app crash..
2. Display mode: i chose Creator Mode.. but sometime it will change to standard mode (punchy colour), setting showing creator mode, but in fact display is showing standard mode colour.. you may differentiate between these 2 mode.. re-select creator mode will fix it.. however after May security updates and i didnt have this issue anymore.. Not sure whether sony fix it.. (this issue occur once a month/2 weeks)..
I did played PUBG, COD and GTA LCS (the most graphics intensive games that i have played in xperia 1).. so far so good.. no lag/throttle speed.. heat, from wearing casing + back screen protector, i cant feel it.. lets me try to play it without case tomorrow.. I did tried played PUBG and do screen record for half hour (1 match).. may refer video below.
so far no issue.. hahaha.. haha thank you. i think i am the only one active user that holding xperia 1 in lowyat forum
Thanks ChuanHong, for your actual user experience review.
From the 1st problem, I assume by setting the phone camera storage on the build in ROM rather than on the memory card might solve the problem?
Haha, let hear from you again on the heat on the phone without the casing.
Guy is the previous Xperia 1 release date for Malaysia same as Singapore? Sony Singapore support page already listed Xperia 1 ii but not Malaysia. Just have to keep our finger crossed and hope the 1 ii to be release in Malaysia.
Based on previous Xperia 1 release date was May 2019 then available to pre-order on August 2019 in Malaysia and get the phone by October. Will Xperia 1 ii share the same timeline??
The very first batch is Japan made. But subsequent will come from Thailand like the Xperia 1 case .These explained why someone got hardware problem but the rest don't.
Which batch have hardware problem? Japan made or Thailand made?
At first Sony Malaysia website did listed it as 5G model, not sure when it taken down. Seem like the market here not as good as other country and Sony don't care much.
You may check Sony JP, the latest 12GB Ram, 256GB Rom with 5G Dual Sim Free version only at 124,000 yen pre-order which around RM4.8k after conversion. I think no huge price differences.
But if Sony Malaysia bring in none 5G model, I am 100% definitely won't buy it. No point getting no 5G phone now as it is basically similar price, no 5G phone is no future proof. The processor is 5G capable but if Sony blocked it, then it is not a wise move and will loose people interest on it.
True, they already make it worst by delaying almost 5 month to launch it in Malaysia. And yet still bring in a non full spec version .
Haha, it human nature. And why Sony want to make thing complicated... their mobile business already post its first yearly profit in four years. By disabling that 5G on XQ-AT52 model can save them more...?
I suspect Sony mobile will completely pull out from malaysia by next year. Just visited two authorised Sony store yesterday & today where there suppose to be one display desk with Xperia phone, but now not a single Xperia phone can be seen at the smaller Sony store. Where else the biggest Sony store at the curve only have a very small booth just for the Xperia phone.
