Hi all, another Sony fan here. Currently using a Xperia XZ, using it for 3.5 years now.  Wanted to change to a new phone and am very attracted to the Xperia 1 Mark II, but price seems a bit high. Currently considering if I should get the older sibling, Xperia 1, instead, hmm...

I've read all the feedback on Xperia I here, especially from ChuanHong and am very attracted to it. I guess I won't miss out much on the new features on the Mark II - I have 2 Sony Bluetooth earphones, and although I enjoy taking photos, I don't do them that much lately - so, the only good upgrade I really like on Mark II is the larger battery and improved processor. I guess if I get a Xperia 1 now, it'll probably last me another 3-4 years, maybe?

What's your take on this? Should I get the Mark II or the older sibling?

Early imported set pricing would be expensive due to tax in different country (local has lower tax apparently), just wait for official announcement. 
Pretty sure they will bundle with 1000XM3, that alone already costs ~900.

Yesterday i forgot to take SOT since I dont really think comparing SOT between users is a good measurement because it is heavily determined by the type of apps open. However for my usage, which involves lots of whatsapp, youtube video, youtube music, calls, and chrome browsing, this xperia 1 ii is better than Galaxy note 10 that i used right before this it, though it still cant beat my usage with my other 3 previous phones : OnePlus 8 Pro, S20 Ultra and iPhone 11 Pro Max.

However to be honest i never really concern about the battery life, even before i purchase this phone. because my daily life is around plugs / PCs. so i know i can charge my device anytime. The thing i really concerned is the reported not so bright screen that surely will cause poor visibility under bright sunlight. I had that problem with Pixel 4 XL which for me was disappointing.
However, i found this Xperia 1 ii screen is quite okay even under harsh sunlight.   IMHO, it's even usable than the OnePlus 8 Pro that has almost double the brightness, but due to it's reflective panel which makes it even harder to read texts.
