Hey guys, I need a little help in deciding on a monitor for my usage.
My main job involves using AutoCAD and other normal office software. However, my hobby on the side is photography and I mainly use lightroom and photoshop.
I am currently using the DELL U2311H which is probably about 8+ years old by now, surprisingly still running well, had some stuck pixels, but managed to solve that issue.

Am considering upgrading my monitor to something larger and with the following criteria

Screen size: preferably a 27" with a minimum QHD resolution. Not sure whether 4K is even suitable considering the how everything needs to be scaled.

Colour: 100% SRGB with delta E of less than 2 (preferably factory precalibrated as i do not have my own calibrator) If it does come with high Adobe RGB coverage it would be great, but still unsure whether I need it. (I do print stuff, but not frequent as I would like). I don't think I would need a 10 bit panel as I do not have a Quadro GFX, but if it does come with 10bit, i wouldnt say no, could be future proofing for a time when I have the cash to afford the quadro set-up.

Ports: I have 3 devices that MUST be connected to the monitor, which are my PC, PS4 and CCTV. And a possible 4th device (laptop) which would connect via USB C (Matebook 13). Therefore, i would need at least 2 HDMI ports (PS4 and CCTV), 1 display port (PC) and if possible USB C.

other features: Besides those stated above, i guess anything else would be a bonus.

Budget: Below RM2k if possible.

I have been doing research on the monitors, but many of them dont have much info. So far I have found a few potential monitors:-
ASUS PA27AC
BENQ PD2700U (overbudget)
LG 27UL600
DELL U2718Q
LENOVO P27U-10 (overbudget and no reviews on colour accuracy)
LENOVO P27H-20 (New and also no reviews on colour accuracy)

Are there anymore I should check out? What do you guys think? Which monitor do you recommend?

Hmmmm... just checked it out, the contrast is a little low even for an IPS panel and this monitor lacks USB C (not absolutely necessary, but nice to have). Pre calibrated out of the box also seems a little off, but colours are good post calibration, but then again, i would need to get a calibrator. hmm.gif Thanks for the suggestion, will put it into consideration.

Yeah, has been high on my list for a while now, but seems like this monitor too needs some calibration.

Actually around the same price would also be the BenQ SW2700PT which has 99% Adobe RGB coverage. Wouldnt this be a better buy than the U2720Q or U2721DE? Honestly i am not sure, just seeking your opinion.

edit: just saw that ur a dell monitor reseller. biggrin.gif

haha, no la, not being prejudice. Really appreciate your recommendation. What I meant was that sometimes resellers of certain specific brands tend to push their product extra hard. But those that sell more than 1 brand normally are genuine and do not have ulterior motive. Didn't mean to say that u have ulterior motive, just pointing out an observation.

Btw, since u have experience with both BenQ and DELL, which would you say is a better buy, coz i just saw the spec sheet on the U2720Q and yes, spec wise looks good, 99% srgb, 95% DCI-P3, factory calibrated with Delta E less than 2. However, the ports would be lacking. I need 2 HDMI ports (CCTV and PS4) and 1 DisplayPort (PC). They do have the USB C port for my laptop which is great tho.

In you personal opinion, u would still go for the DELL over the BenQ?

The link u sent is for the UP2720Q which is very very very expensive. UP series are an excellent series for photographers, but it doesnt come cheap. Would be nice if the UP2720Q was nearly the same price as the U2720Q
