This workshop seems to be  honest in suggesting so .....
for he could have kept the balance of three quarters of what you have paid for his ongoing use .

You are right. The owner is very friendly and honest. He says he will give a reasonable price, but so far service is better than any normal shop. I've managed to return the packing gum and trade for other parts. Part shop is quite reasonable too except for iginition coil socket which costs rm40 each.

Since I'm also changing the thermostat and the radiator is rusty inside, do you think I should do a full flushing of the radiator? (including the pipes running through the engine). I think normally will only be able to flush the radiator pipes if they don't remove the thermostat..

Very Sad nowadays very hard to find pro foreman and majority is spare part man always ask you change this and that but no guarantee one

Ask them diagnostic the sound but at the end after part changed , the sound still there ! after that ack like don't know

I am his regular customer but all this while, normal service no problem but come to major issue, it depend his luck to solve

What sound that the foreman can't resolve? Mind sharing the sound?

It may make sense for you to do '9 year old radiator flushing' just before or simultaneously replacing water pump assembly.
After new water pump was installed, how ? My mechanic advised me not to do it on my 320k km 14 yo Avanza original engine which has a cast iron cylinder head.
This Avanza engine has not been using anti-freeze coolant for say 10 years, and the rust is worst than yours at the region around the top of the radiator neck in contact with radiator cap rubber seal.
Hence contemplating whether to replace with a new radiator assembly (Would likely do it before or during next water pump assembly replacement).
Coolant leak is quite minor for this 14 yo radiator.

Just yesterday when I moved my car for a wash I noticed the floor got oil stain. Thought it was coming from the bottom oil pan. Did Google abit I found out the possibility to leak from engine gasket so I check again today.

Gotcha! Oil level was at the middle of max and min. Looks like leak already sometime. Leak at the floor might becuz I revved the car few days ago...

Don't know how to describe the intermittent sound like tek tek when turning but it not drive shafts sound

Changed stabiliser link , stabiliser bush but the sound still there ? I suspect lower arm but again foreman not able to diagnostic or confirm hence at the end fall under your responsible and luck

Actually the workshop owner advised me to replace the plastic radiator neck only as it had changed colour from black to green. He told me it might burst if the plastic degrade further. For your 320k avanza I'm not sure if using anti rust sealer additive can help..I heard toyota's super long life coolant is quite thick, so somehow help seal the leaks too.

You should try prestigious auto if you're in KV. I'm super satisfied with their service. It's top notch. Plan to change my mounting with them next
