hi guys,

i own a mac pro 2013, lowest spec, and i just swap the ram from 12GB to 128GB. i bought my ram from OWC.

but sometimes, it shows error that says' error detected on ram module'. this occurs when im working in the afternoon. does room temperature has something to do with this?

my mac does not crash, i restart and run the hardware test (restart and hold the D button), it has zero report on error...

is this normal?

thanks in advance notworthy.gif

Have you try swapping the rams between slots around and rerun the test?

i've swapped my RAM into different slots. but error still occur on the same place, slot one most of the time...

anyone can help?

but no drop in performance or freeze wtc... should i just ignore it?

BTW i've already turn on my air conditioner so that the room temperature is not hot, set at 25c...

OWC products QC are terrible. Better do RMA with them.

but i swapped the ram, and the same problem occur on the same slot...
is it possible that the problem comes from the ram slot? what does it call, raiser?

If you put in stock RAM and the same slot reporting error then it could the slot itself problem. But in most cases the slot just dusty as it is not in use for many years. Try cleaning it and reinsert few time it might solve the problem.

Don't use any liquid. It's high risk. Just brush and blow the slot gently. Re-insert the memory few time. Sometime it will work by trying only one slot. Forcing the Mac to work on that particular slot.
