Hi everyone, I'm looking to install Internet at my new house at Bandar Seri Coalfields, Sungai Buloh. Any sifu here can recommend which provider to use? and probably what package to go for. Previously was using Unifi Lite aka Streamyx 4Mbps at old house. Weekdays normally my mom and dad and elder sister at home so not much use. Weekend everyone at home so use more kao kao

between Maxis or Unifi, i'd choose Unifi.
better put at which floor that you gonna use the most. but another point to consider is the hypptv, that's why many install near their tv set. else a mesh wifi is the better solution for better full house coverage |

QUOTE(C0deXeus @ Apr 24 2020, 11:43 AM) Hi everyone, I'm looking to install Internet at my new house at Bandar Seri Coalfields, Sungai Buloh. Any sifu here can recommend which provider to use? and probably what package to go for. Previously was using Unifi Lite aka Streamyx 4Mbps at old house. Weekdays normally my mom and dad and elder sister at home so not much use. Weekend everyone at home so use more kao kao Do informal survey with your neighbors and ask them what provider they are using currently and the total number of downtime they face in a month. Also, ask them if they face frequent bandwidth throttling at night. Most of the time, unifi always recommended for residential area due to after-sales support (means any problem you will get priority over maxis users). Btw, my house is double storey. Better to put it at 1st or second floor? Less hardware needed to surf the internet, the better. Unifi wins here due to you can directly buy a better third-party router and can directly replace your current networking setup unlike maxis which requires a slight tweak. Unifi
better support whereas Maxis still depends on Unifi Technician when troubleshooting concern. Therefore, time will taken to resolve on this stage |

I checked stat using OpenSignal app:
Maxis 3rd place: Upload 5.89Mbps/ Download 15.15Mbps Unifi 5th place: Upload 1.9Mbps/ Download 5.78Mbps Cuz the place I'm staying is newly developed plus MCO so very few residents. I asked 2 people I kenal around there, both also using Unifi. One complain slow speed. The other say it's ok for them, since not use much. I agree Unifi has better tech support. It's simply hard to pick between Unifi and Maxis... or got any provider else to recommend? |

Since now MCO everyone at home utilizing the broadband so its normal will be slighly slower, furthermore undersea cable also rosak (that is the link from MY connect to the World). Even im on Time 100Mbps nowadays also getting 30-50Mbps only but its still quite fast enough. |
