i updated the firmware to 2.01 and it is still fine....
dont think its the firmware... |

erm...can i take back my previous statement...my boss just told me he cannot read any disc...he is in japan with his japanese ps3...all ori...
 cannot read after install 2.01... |

but "luckily" since he is in japan n he bought tat ps3 in japan, he will try n claim the warranty.....

it all comes down to luck..there have been reports of gamers saying they onli use it for games n the lens fail them as well...
