N here's a loooovely sexay Coolermaster GeminII cooler that will be used in the project.

user posted image

user posted image

OOooooooooohhhhhhhhh just look at those sexay heatpipes. I just cant help myself anymore. I hafta play with them right nowwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.

user posted image

So I installed the cooler on the mobo even b4 I started on the casing itself. laugh.gif

Installed the HDDs to show how the stock orientation is. The wires will all be exposed on the motherboard side which will be open to full view once I cut the window for the panel. Wont look nice with lotsa wires exposed in the side window.

user posted image

So, what I'm going to do is reverse the HDD cages so that the wires will all be hidden from view n haf a totally clean look from the window. 1st thing I did was to remove the cages.

user posted image

Voila! 2 nice lovely HDD cages removed.

user posted image

I then proceeded to reverse the cages n this is the result. All HDD wires will be hidden now.

Back view.

user posted image

Window side view. See, no more wires on this side. rclxm9.gif

user posted image

Moving on to the top panel now. Making a window for it. All masked n marked, ready for lunch date with Mr. Black Decker. biggrin.gif

user posted image

Mr Black decker is having a goooooooooooood time on the date.

user posted image

Top window cutting is done.

user posted image

It's time to install the hardware.

user posted image

Hardware installed.

UV look in the dark.

user posted image

More pix of the rig in the dark. Top view tru the window. That's it for the main rig. It's all done.

user posted image

Time to move on to the side window now. Mr Black Decker cant wait to go on the next date with Ah Lian. biggrin.gif Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. Here we gooooooooooooooooooooo Mr Black Decker.

user posted image

Rough cut of the top section of the window is done.

user posted image

Bottom section done.

user posted image

After a few hours of final detailing work on the window, it's now complete.

user posted image

Let's put it on the case to complete everything.
Side view for a better look at the reversed HDD cages. Wifi HDDs! No wires! bruce.gif

hooo .. speechless nice .... every single cut is like work of a machine rather than hand cut with tool ..

btw.. uncle how do u manage to cut the curve line with jigsaw...I've always experience vibration or miss alignment when turning the blade to certain degree,,,,,

It has something to do with the blade used ???

The geminII should be around the weight of an XP-90c iirc. I couldn't provide the specific weight figures, but the xp-90c weighs around 700g.

first of all u need absolute darkness in the room

i off all my lights just left the pc with its UV light on

eeerrr....me thinks them stickers or whatever on the HDD are overkill la. too square.

if really wanna put something there should use some design (like tribal etc) or something using fluoro paper and stick on it.

like that would be nicer.

nice work with the temperature display, but the stickers really a bit not in place,

just a suggestion, may be u can do some pattern on it or get a UV reactive plastic like those on the fan instead to cover on it

Thanks. Glad u like the mods. Bout opening a shop, yes I can open a shop I guess but I'm a retired man n I've had enuf of the working life. smile.gif Now it's my time to sit back n relax, just enjoy n love what I'm doing. I mod at my own pace n accept projects oni when I feel I haf the time n energy to do it. Once it becomes commercial it's no longer a hobby. I just wanna enjoy modding for the pure pleasure it gives me.
