QUOTE(aspire2oo6 @ Jan 24 2008, 12:05 PM) lol why not you do yourself a favor then by going to maxis.com.my homepage print screen the step by step how to set active 5 and ask your customer to follow picture. It isnt that hard. IF you set for them next time they wanna change active5 they come bug you again. i teach the young guy/gal to do themselves. i teach them step by step for the 1st number. the rest they do it themselves. for some older customer, you think they know how to read english or understand them? those ppl are not educated very high. so i need to help them lor.... they so support my shop.... help a bit never mind lar...

Discontinuation of 7 Digits Dialing MNP Deployment
What is 7 digit dialing? 7 Digit Dialing is the facility whereby a Maxis customer is currently allowed to make an on-net call by dialing only the 7 digit customer number without dialing the appropriate prefix, ie 012 or 017. To complete the call the network appends the prefix to the digits dialed, this is determined by the prefix of the customer making the call.
Why does it have to be removed? When MNP is implemented in April 2008 the prefix will no longer dictate which operator the subscriber belongs and so 7 digit on-net dialing can no longer be supported by the networks. A Maxis customer may have 012, 017, 016, 019 etc as part of their number so there is no way to determine which one to append, the customer therefore must dial all 10 digits. This is the normal practice internationally as a result of MNP being deployed in a market.
Recommended steps- Advise all customers to program their phone numbers in the full international format if possible or at least in national format which includes the 10 digits. Communications to customers-
SMS Broadcast Targeted As our valued customer, we would like to advise that from 22nd Feb onwards you will need to include the 012, 017 or 0142 prefix when making calls. Thank you
Whole Base Please be advised that from 22nd Feb onwards all Maxis calls will need to include the 012, 017 or 0142 prefix when making calls
Voice Announcement ENG Our apologies. Please dial the Maxis number complete with it's prefix - 012, 017 or 0142. Thank you.
BM Harap Maaf. Untuk membuat panggilan, sila dail awalan 012, 017 atau 0142 diikuti nombor Maxis. Terima Kasih.
Bill Message ENG Please be advised that with effect from 22nd February all subscribers will need to include the 012, 017 or 0142 prefix when making any calls to a Maxis number
BM Perhatian: Mulai 22hb Februari semua pelanggan perlu dail nombor lengkap dengan awalan 012, 017 atau 0142 untuk setiap panggilan Maxis
