It is a laudable ethos yet one which crumbled during the era of Senna v Prost - rather than Senna and Prost - and again on Saturday when two drivers fell into the temptation of driving for a World Championship rather than for the McLaren team. It is ironic that they were both permitted to collect World Championship points and McLaren were not because the qualifying debacle was caused by Alonso and Hamilton prioritising individual ambition over team glory.

Alonso has been letting his emotions get the better of him this year. I'm kind of a hot-headed person myself so i can sympathize with him. What Lewis did wasn't just a mistake. If I were in Alonso's shoes i probably would have done the same. Besides the rule of impeding a driver is very grey anyway as nowhere is it mentioned that there is a limit of time a driver should take to exit out of the pits. I'm not in any way defending what Alonso did was right. All i'm saying is alot of ppl have been very quick to blame Alonso for everything when the main culprit here was Lewis.

Well, what Lewis did was wrong but it wasn't against FIA regulations (no rules for screwing up your teammates' strategy) but what Fernando did was against regulations as he held up a competitive driver/even if it is his teammate from setting a lap time. Yes, no where it is said that a driver should take a certain amount of time to complete a pit stop but the PIT STOP HAD COMPLETED and Alonso was there stagnant for several seconds which held up Hamilton. Besides, the reason given by Alonso was rather LAME

well, your are partly correct on that. You see, every weekend teams are given let say 8 set of tyres(i forgot how many tyres they are allowed on race weekend) to use for the whole race weekend; Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The 8 set consist of hard and softer compund (white) tyres. So how do the team know if the tyres is brand new or have been used before of the same compound?

the answer is, if you noticed, theres a numbering on the side wall of tyre like B8 written in green, which, the driver cant see.
