IIRC, that was taken from another Sentai series, Ninja Sentai Kakuranger. They didn't take the suit as they cannot incorporate the Hanada Jyuunin (Hanada 10) storyline, a famous ninja story in Japan into the American version, so they just stole the Mechas for the movie

Each animal is based on each Ninja in history. Sarutobi Sasuke was a monkey. Tsuruhime was a swan. Jiraiya was a toad. Miyoshi Seikai was a bear and Kirigakure Saizo was a wolf.

the only different between ninja sentai kakuranger and power rangers shogun ninjazord is the word at the middle of the body rite? US version got only gold thunder signal while Japan version got "ren"(chinese pronounce) or ninja in chinese letter?

Depends. The initial batch of toys have the "nin" characthers, the second batch was changed IIRC

i think i spotted the different of US version and Japan version for this thunder megazord, Japan version robot many areas got green colour while US version is replace by gold colour (better ) besides that, some sticker style of japan version oso different with US 1, such as the sticker at the sword cover...
