Does anybody know how to disable the automatic windows update? It is quite annoying and force me to update often.

I don't need all these useless updates that are useless spyware.

Sometimes the "important updates" might still go through metered WiFi. If your computer can stand it, just let it run the "important updates" over weekend or night.

If you really want to stop all update, NetLimiter (paid software) might help to prevent Windows Update from accessing internet. Firewalls are usually insufficient (from my experience).

It is annoying when we want to shutdown but the damn windows 10 won't let us shutdown bcos it is updating.

We are not rich to leave computer on after midnight.

This Microsoft is really infringing on our free rights.

Unluckily most people sell computers with Windows and NOT Linux.

IN the past version of Windows, they never force people to update. This time it is too much.

The user should decide whether they want to update or not.

Having issues with Windows update

Just bought new pc running ryzen 5 3600

Installed windows 10 as usual and they did all the windows update to the latest version

Then while restarting, it got stuck at the windows logo

Did it twice and both times stuck there

Is it due to windows updating to the latest version ?

When Windows is doing updating , you are not supposed to switch off your computer or else the files will be corrupted.

That's why I hate forced updates.

Leave your computer updating with wifi internet on for at least one hour then restart.

If after restarting ,it's still stuck for at least one hour, then your files are corrupted.

You need to reinstall everything again. sweat.gif

I would not recommend disabling these updates. In any case, they are needed and sooner or later lead to a failure in the system.
