Hi sifus,
Appreciate your help with my problem.
I'm currently using Focal IS165TOY 2-way component.
Woofer: 60W RMS at 4ohm
Tweeters: no spec on manual and website, but safe to assume the wattage will be much lower (most standalone tweeter from Focal is at 15W RMS at 4ohm).
Both woofer and tweeter has built-in passive crossover at the speaker itself.
Current setup:
Tweeter is connected to HU
Woofer connected to stock car amp about 30W.
I'm planning to get a 4 channel amp at 60-70Wx4 with HPF/LPF and gain settings. My question is: Can i just connect the tweeter to the new amp despite the difference in wattage? Any advantage/disadvantage of doing so? Or should I maintain it being connected to the HU?
Thank you very much in advance!
Using same amp for woofer and tweeter
