Hi guys, I'm a big fan of 90s pop music, such as Bon Jovi's "Always", the Backstreet Boys, The Moffatts, Hanson (and all those boybands), Anyone here share the same taste?

Its a free country.. anyone with personal preferences. As long as the tunes appeal to my ear..I don't really care if its all boy or girl band.
I do enjoy MLTR or Alleycats music once a while and I'll enjoy it to the fullest on my hifi rig!. Afterall why should I care who else doesn't like or not.. its in my own home, on my own rig..PC or hifi.. it only matters to me. |

Right now, 80s is the new 70s....
Gone are stuff like That 70s Show, Bell Bottoms, Groovy Tunes, Hendrix Popularity (amongst pop-culture, NOT musically), Weed and hippy power. Now we see 80s hair metal bands, Spandex, Flock of Segulls, 80s Pop (POP! Goes my heaaaarrrrttttt), Transformers, A-Team, Star Wars, Van Halen...... all making a come back....... And I have a feeling that the 90s is going to be the new 80s soon enough In case you don't know 80s pop: |

QUOTE(led_zep_freak @ Jul 25 2007, 11:16 AM) Hmm.... boybands... Actually, I was talking more about the most popular type of popular songs during 90s which are the boybands type of songs. BUT! I forgot that there were other types of popular songs as well that hit the top of the charts during the 90s such as Green Day's Basket Case, Blur - Song 2 and I cant remember the rest lol, But I know what ur talking about there led_Zep_freak. But I'm not really into those radiohead, oasis, jeff buckley but I guess some of them were popular during the 90s as well, like Oasis :-D so considered also lah. Though I was wondering if anyone had the same taste as me here, especially girls maybe cuz I know there are not many guys in this section of the forum would listen to pop. Just trying to find someone to share my interest with If you're talking about 90s rock like Radiohead, Oasis, Jeff Buckley etc... (No grunge, though. MOST 80s pop bands uses synth drums instead of real acoustic drums......
And MOST Metal bands that time have a keyboardist........ Electronics was the new fad in that era....... |

But I'm thinking of getting my own keyboard/keypad combo like the Axiom...... that is if I want to be involved in music production. |

Well back in the 90s you had the Spice Girls with good hits like Wannabe, 2 Become 1, Mama. They started to suck with "Spice Up Your Life", the chorus sounded as though the songwriters didn't have any idea.
Then you've got Boyzone (noticed nobody mentioned this boyband earlier in previous posts), which I find has much better songs than N Sync or 98 Degrees and what not. Then of course there's Alanis Morrisette's (Jagged Little Pill) which is an awesome alternative rock album, which I'm sure everyone likes! There's that one hit wonder 'b****' by Meredith Brooks (was that her name? kinda forgot lol). Other than that, don't know what else to recommend already, Gloria Estefan kot. Or that Tony Rich Project song 'Nobody Knows', jiwang giler, from the 90s as well I think. |

QUOTE(Everdying @ Jul 30 2007, 02:12 AM) They not sux, I particularly love both their album. The first album from M2M is a bit teen-ish, but the 2nd album is more mature. Marion have a very powerful voice and I really love her first album (Here I Am), all the songs (except At The End Of The Day, which is weird) sounds great, I absolutely love For You I'll Die, Marion + piano = harmonious. But I can't say about her 2nd album (Set Me Free) only 3 songs were new, others are from old album, and the new songs that I like is Falling Away, she needs to write her song on her own, not just co-write it. The new Heads Will Roll does sounds great though. She have 'sold' her body for popularity, I don't like that I prefer Marit more, because her music have soul. But some songs does sounds a bit folk-ish, but it blends in nicely with her cute, soft voice. Her song is unique, 'Under The Surface' song for instance have happy music but if you just read the lyrics, its a very sad song actually. I pay RM190 to buy this album from Amazon |
