yo guys, just wondering do u OC your notebook's GC to squeeze out some more juice? for those who OC, appreciate if u could provide the info as mine below:

Notebook Model: Dell 6400
CG Model: ATI X1400
Stock Spd: 432/396MHz
OC Spd: 520/430MHz
OC tool: PowerStrip

Fyi, i only OC during gameplay, else will runs at stock speed for normal activity.

u manage to overclock dat high...got any artifacts? wat abt temp? heat? etc2...more info please! cos last time when i slightly overclock my mem speed edy got artifacts....

actually i tried 440 (memory) before, also got no artifacts. tried core clock @ 540, it hangs . Temp is 68C max @ stock fan spd (reading by I8Kfan, no manual fan spd control) but with chapalang notebook cooler.

I have intended to do this since the day i bought mine. But it is not worth it as it will void my warranty. I dont have the guts to risk it. I will tho once the warranty is expired. Some couple of frens did OC their m9700 and guess what they reach like 11000 in 3dmark05 while the stock is somewhere around 9000+ to 10000 depending the cards used (some of us are just 2 x 256mb while others 2 x 512mb).

I thought they can't tell if you OCed your GPU..

But nicely done on the x1400! I think 68d is nice since i heard some people OC till 80d then hang.. Lol.

from burn mark i guess...sm brands will void warranty if u OC it...but i guess, if dell, wont b any probls...i think...

If it just risk the GPUs, I wouldnt mind. I dont want it to burn anything else. If its not covered, im F'ed. See it depends, if u have an SLi system, I think u will think twice.

never heard of overclocking laptop.....won't it be spoiling laptop easier compared to desktop?
can my toshiba M100 be overclocked?

You shouldn't OC your notebook. Unlike desktop, notebooks don't have the flexibility to replace damaged components. If your notebook MOBO died, you will need to fork out a huge amount to get a replacement.

u guys r absolutely rite , it is not wise to overclock anything in notebook as the heat dissipation, component durability & availability are not as good; it happened just that on the day i felt itchy & recall back my sweet oc time on my desktop during old day . in a nutshell, do not overclock unless u r ready to bear the consequences

my next polling will discuss on undervolting which is a safe measurement i suppose

Im not oppose at all. If u reread my post, I mentioned i dont want to fry anything else (of coz mobo and other components) and also I said I'll OC once Im out of warranty haha.

Well, I'm currently using BenQ S73G with graphic card ATI X1600.
I didn't overclock my graphic card and have no intention of doing so.
But because of the high temperature of S73G's system, I do undervolting my processor.
Without undervolting, my whole system went up to more than 80C when playing only Warcraft III
With undervolting, managed to keep it below 70C.

i also undervolted my T7200 and the outcome is overwhelming, managed to bring down 10C to 15C, maybe that's why my CG doesn't increase in max temp on OC pairing with undervolted T7200. my setting:
6x : 0.95
7x & 8x : 0.962
9x & 10x : 0.975
10x & 11x : 0.985

played a lot of games & done a lot of video editing without encounter any error

as i can see a lot of dell user r facing a lot of temp problem here...i suggest those who have this problem go buy some good laptop cooler...coz this will help u to prolong ur laptop lifetime...
