QUOTE(gregy @ Jul 11 2008, 02:08 AM) Not entirely true, one can pass OCCT but still fail Prime. The same can also be said, someone passing Prime may fail OCCT. It will all depend on where the problem lies. Is it the fsb, vcore, rams, psu etc... Best to do all the tests. hmm..taiko, wana ask.... are those software capable of telling what causes the problems?

or maybe try with prime95 small fft only.... that stresses ur proc only ..... btw, i dont think ur ram will hold u back for 400x8 and 1:1 ratio config cos ur ram is rated to run stable at 800mhz

QUOTE(syahirax @ Aug 19 2008, 07:17 PM) guys, just wondering,im using Q6600 B3,and i overclocked it to 3 ghz and the idle temp is 50 C/49C/48C/50C,and im using xigmatek HDT S1283,Dont you think the temp is a bit high?Ive lapped my hsf and proc anyway. not sure... me using non-lapped s1283 and it can hit 6x degree c on priming at 3.5ghz in an aircond room

QUOTE(syahirax @ Aug 19 2008, 09:07 PM) yeah but i assume yours is G0 stepping while mine is B3.Or did i lapped my proc or hsf wrongly?(but both on flat surface) cant really know actually... cos even if u do same clock with me but the temp might differ for the same proc... just keep it under 60c lor.... u didnt compare with the temp b4 lap?

QUOTE(ben_panced @ Sep 1 2008, 03:36 PM) with my cpu it seems i cant get to 3.6ghz even if raised the vcore to 1.56v didnt dare to go higher as the cpu and the cpu vrm are very hot at that voltage haih luck is not on my side i guess mine 1st q6600 also like that last time... hardly does 3.4ghz with 1.5v too but then after go get another one that has a VID of 1.3 n can hit 3.6 with just 1.4v

QUOTE(remysix @ Oct 12 2008, 07:24 PM) IIRC, mine can do 3.2G at default...but was struggling to reach 3.6v... when will Nehalem be available in the market? surely will grab one...if the price is good same same with my ex q6600 with the default VID of 1.3 but then i can reach 3.6 quite easy wor...just add vcore till 1.45-1.5 only iirc

QUOTE(remysix @ Oct 12 2008, 07:55 PM) to me...if vid = 1.30v, then 1.35v ~ 1.375v to achieve 3.6v is easy...1.45 ~ 1.5v considered not easy already coz u need to up ur vcore a few times before getting it stable...yes, mine also can do 3.6G wif 1.5v...but considered struggling la aiks this is not 45nm mar...... even 45nm q9450 oso hardly does 3.6ghz with lesser than 1.4v unless u got a pretty nice chip.....greedy la u

QUOTE(uzary @ Sep 7 2009, 02:51 AM) im considering p45 mobo, so does it mean when i change mobo i can oc higher? looking at 400 fsb hopfully if i get p45 mobo.. but wondering how much vcore it takes to power up 400fsb.. get p35 if u lazy tweak mobo just up vcore can OC edi without having to adjust too much p45 can let u OC at relatively lower vcore but then u will have to adjust alot of things like gtl ref, vnb, vfsb to ensure u are stable at that clock.... ur q6600 is normally walled at around 450fsb.... just my 2 cents liao
