hi all sifu, what is the suitable hsf to tame q6600, just for a mild oc to 3.2ghz. is HDT-SD964 ok? i know most might recommend s1283, cm 212 & etc but my prob is they are too tall to fit into my poor mid-tower, and kind of out of my budget too... thks~

i don't think the HDT-SD964 would be enough for a quaddy. maybe the S1283?

s1283 outperformed sd964 for sure, but that would required me to chg chasis

Nice vcore!  thumbup.gif Why not OC to 3.2Ghz to see how much you need for the vcore and how high the temperature rises?  hmm.gif
*
dunno why, managed to run 3ghz @ 1.285v at no sweat but for 3.2ghz, prime failed even i set to stock vcore @ 1.325, so gave up...

@Dickong, i would choose the one passed prime; it recalls me last time when i undervolt too much on e6600, orthos failed but multi-tasks seems just fine, later when i play cpu intensive games for hours, i noticed they prone to crash... same goes to during video editing.

hi Sifus,

I planning to get a Q6600. Is the G0 version out at the market ?

Pls recommend a mobo wif the budget around RM400. Which allow me to perform some basic OC.

Thanks in advance for the answer.... really noob in OC...

i'm using ga-p35-ds3l, saw someone want to sell @ rm280 at garage sales, u may want to consider it.

dang.

back to the topic.
usually a 3ghz overclock doesnt need a raise in vcore rite.

usually yeah... unless the proc is so bad they need a vcore bump biggrin.gif

mine can go further than 3ghz, at an even lower vcore than stock vcore biggrin.gif

yup, what vcore is yours? mine is 1.2500 @ 3GHz steadily at the moment, will try to lower if got time

btw, undervolt topic @ http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/518154
